Thread: Hubby's truck totalled while being towed by AAA!!

Yes, it's strange but true!! AAA was towing it to the repair shop and somehow, it came loose off the tow truck, right side hit a palm tree, then jumped the curb and landed in a sand field. It was a sad sight to see!! The right front tire was at a 45 degree angle like this \ and the cab and truck bed were shifted about 3 inches from each other. The tow co.'s insurance said the truck has to be scrapped. A lot of frame damage to it. Hubby's sad cause his lil truck is gone gone, bye bye!!

Are they going to pay your hubby for the damages they did to his vehicle? After-all it was their fault and they should.

Yeah, they're trying to 'work out' all the details still. Hell, it was a 1998 and we're still paying on it!! They gave hubby (whose 6'3") a little Ford Focus to drive until everything's settled!! He says he can't fit in it, he wants my Olds to drive and I can have the ford!! LOL!! Gonna have to find somewhere to drive tomorrow!!

We're gonna make sure they get hubby something to replace the truck and pay off what we still owe on it. EVeryone in town is talking about it. All the AutoZone guys, the mechanic, all the tow services, the grocery store!! Now I know what it takes to get noticed in this California Desert Town!!

I guess the frame is messed up, so it can't be fixed. 2 auto guys are gonna look at it tomorrow.

GBA, hubby grew up in Ridgecrest! (well, from like age 12 to 18). I wonder if he would know anybody you know, it is a small town! He totally hated it & never, ever wants to go back! LOL! His friend's parent's still live there & his friend has been out of a job for about 9 months now so he was considering going there to stay with his parents, since he can stay with them rent free, and we said, come live here rent free, please, just don't go back there! That's how much they hate it!

Nope, I'm not in Ridgecrest....I'm across I-10 from Palm Springs in Desert Hot Springs. Ex-mil is in Ridgecrest, so I avoid it at all costs!! I'll keep you all updated on this!!

Banning?? Know of any good used car lots around there?? Sounds like they're just going to pay off his truck and leave us screwed.

Orange Co?? Hubby was born in Huntington Beach and grew up in Long beach!! His aunt and uncle still live in Orange Co.
Honestly, I HATE this desert!! I miss green grass everywhere. The only green grass out here is at the golfcourse and I'm not gonna pay$250 each time I want to see green grass!! And I'm sick of palm trees, too. (HM, maybe I need to post in vent/whine!)
