Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
I am wanting to smoke so bad! I was always a "social smoker". I smoked when I was out, especially with other smokers. I wasn't the type to smoke when I was nervous...until now.
DD is having serious problems as mentioned in the V&W post.
It's not like I have the urge all the time, and it's not when I am thinking anything in particular. I quit for good two summers ago.
Now it's back.
I am sucking on hard candy and dumdum suckers LOL

I just smoked the last cig in the house! DH and I decided the other day when we were flat broke, that we weren't buying anymore! We finished the several packs in the house and now they are gone..it is kind of a scary feeling! I smoked from age 17 til the day I gave birth at age 30, when I looked at my lil guy I felt such guilt for smoking while pregnant, I never craved another one...til 1.5 years ago...(DS was 2.5) Out at a club, bummed one off of a friend and that was all it took...man it tasted sooo good...now they just taste like chit! I have had bronchitis 4 times now in the past 1.5 yrs... and right now have it worse than I ever have... I truly am having trouble breathing if I walk just a few feet! (been to the dr..on meds...feeling a little better each day) But I dont' want to feel like this every single day of my life when I get older! I don't want emphesyma or cancer or have to carry an O2 tank around with me! Both my parents were heavy smokers...both are also dead now too...both in their early 60s. Father lost a lung and then got it in the other one. Mother's spread from her lungs to her brain. I am gonna do this! I wanna see my grandkids! I can't afford to gain not even one pound, but I'll deal with that later. Last time I quit, I also went on Depo at the same time and gained 60 pounds in 10 months!! (only have 25 of it off!). Thanks for letting me go on and on. Just getting kinda nervous about this, since I really didn't have to do anything last time. Just never wanted one when I left the hospital! But now I gotta do this the hard way! Wish me luck and keep me in your thoughts and I'll do the same for others trying to quit!

Congrats on quitting!! Have you thought about trying the Nicorette gum or using the patch? I smoked for over 20 years. I quit back on July 11th of this year and I still get cravings every now and then. Some stronger than others but, like you, I don't want cancer and I want to live a healthy life and enjoy it, not spend it at doctors offices and hospitals. Good luck to you. You can do it!!!

Shancopp and Davesbabydoll, I'll do it with you, I was shooting for the 1st as a quit date myself .. I really shouldn't be smoking at all and did quit for about 5 months and than did it here and there and do it more here than there now.
Here is a website to go to (I've posted it several times) www.whyquit.com .. check it out! Pay attention to the "We Died Young" section .. a REAL eye opener!

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Distance and time may separate us but friendship and memories won't.

Kimp thanks for bumoing this for me and buttrfli. I emailed her and if she agrees, then we will make Martin Luther King say, our cut off day. I really want to do this and after seeing how much money everyone has saved, this makes me want to quit even more.
