Sadly, this may not be a joke. Until the police have gone through all the shooters belongings, they have no idea if he acted alone or not.

As this was unfolding, I recall hearing that police and dogs were tracking his accomplice into the woods....then I didn't hear anything about that.....odd.

As with most tragedies like this, the media is just out to sensationalize the whole thing. They'll print anything they hear from anyone....just to be the first to get the so-called ''scoop.''
I never believe what I hear in the first day.

twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house."
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"may this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"come now my children, let me show you around."
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

Connecticut gun laws among the toughest in the U.S.
By Ryan Teague Beckwith, Digital First Media ~ Posted on December 14, 2012
Supporters and opponents alike of gun control will point to this fact in the coming days: Connecticut already has some of the toughest restrictions on gun laws in the United States. For gun control supporters, the shooting at a Newtown elementary school will be one more piece of evidence that even stronger laws are needed, including at the national level. “We have some of the strongest gun laws in the United States, but if you don’t have strong federal gun laws, that makes it that much more difficult,” said Ron Pinciaro, executive director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence.
But advocates for gun owners and sportsmen say that shows that the law can only do so much. “In general, the laws here are pretty strict, and they’re working,” said Bob Crook, executive director of the Coalition of Connecticut Sportsmen. “But I don’t know of any law that would prevent someone like at Columbine or at Aurora or here in Connecticut from committing these offenses which are clearly psychologically based.”
Connecticut’s laws are strict by comparison to many other states, but they still fall short of what many gun control advocates want.
In 2011, Connecticut was rated the fifth toughest by the pro-gun control Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence on a scorecard which gave points for each restriction the group favors. But the state scored only 58 points out of a possible 100, below the 81 points of top state California but far ahead of most other U.S. states. Thirty-one states didn’t even score in the double digits.
To buy a gun, Connecticut law requires residents apply for a local permit, typically with the town’s police chief, have their fingerprints taken and submit to a state and federal background check with a 14-day waiting period. To buy a handgun, residents also are required to take a gun safety course. The state is also one of seven to have an assault weapons ban that specifically lists more than 35 semiautomatic and automatic weapons. It does not appear to cover the .223 caliber rifle used in Friday’s attack.
Pinciaro said the state weapons ban, which dates back to 1994, did not go far enough because it did not also include restrictions on high-capacity magazines, which allow users to fire off dozens of shots before stopping to reload. After the 2011 shooting in Arizona at a constituent event held by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Connecticut lawmakers proposed a restriction that would limit magazines to 10 rounds. But after hundreds of protesters showed up at the state capital for a hearing, the bill died in committee.
Crook said the restrictions would not stop people carrying out mass shootings such as the one on Friday. “Restricting the number of rounds in a magazine is not very smart,” he said. “You can change a magazine in less than a second, so all you’ve got to do is carry more magazines.”
Pinciaro said he wasn’t sure if such a restriction would have helped in the Newtown shooting. “It’s hard to say, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do it,” he said.
Ultimately, gun control advocates say their best hope is Congress. Mark Glaze, director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a gun control group started by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, noted that the vast majority of guns found in New York City crime scenes come from other states. “We have some of the strongest gun laws in the country, but guns don’t respect boundaries any more than criminals do,” he said. “When one state has weak gun laws, that opens the floodgate of guns into the stream of commerce and they end up in communities in other states.”
“That’s a federal problem and it needs a federal solution,” he added.

Gun-control laws failed Connecticut children[[i]
Facts of crime reveal shooter violated at least 3 statutes already in place
In the wake of the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Conn., voices across nation, and indeed across the globe, have been calling for stricter gun-control laws.
Yet what gun-control measure could have prevented this crime?
The state of Connecticut already has certain gun-control laws in place, at least three of which the shooter broke, as he could have only obtained the weapons through illegal means. According to news reports, Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother Nancy Lanza dead at their family home before driving to the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, where he gunned down more than two dozen people, 20 of them children, and then killed himself.
The Associated Press reports Lanza brought three guns into the school: a Glock pistol, a Sig Sauer pistol and Bushmaster rifle, which the New York Post further reports was a semi-automatic “assault rifle” chambered for a .223 caliber round, matching casings found at the crime scene. Lanza, therefore, if you count theft, murder and breaking and entering – since CBS New York now reports it likely Lanza broke into the school through a window to rcumvent a locked-door and intercom security system – would have violated a half-dozen laws in his crime, including the following gun-control statutes:
First, Connecticut law requires a person be over 21 to possess a handgun. Lanza was 20.
Second, Connecticut requires a permit to carry a pistol on one’s person, a permit Lanza did not have.
Third, it is unlawful in Connecticut to possess a firearm on public or private elementary or secondary school property, a statute Lanza clearly ignored.
Fourth, with details on the Bushmaster rifle still sketchy, it’s possible Lanza may have violated a Connecticut law banning possession of “assault weapons.”
Of course, these laws were violated because Lanza did not own any of the firearms in question, but rather stole them, and he clearly had no regard for the law in committing his crime.
The Associated Press reports the weapons were registered to Lanza’s first victim, his own mother, according to a law enforcement official not authorized to discuss information with reporters and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The facts of the case mark one of the largest quandaries with cries for additional gun control: The guns already exist, and the criminals who have broken laws to use them have also demonstrated they’re willing to break laws to obtain them.
Unless the government somehow mandates and is able to effectively destroy the millions of guns already in circulation, gun-control laws primarily affect the already law-abiding, rather than the criminal element.
Yet legislators have been swift to suggest the answers lie in even more laws.
In Congress, Fox News reports, California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a leading gun-control advocate on Capitol Hill, has called for members to address the issue when a new session starts in January.
“I hope and trust that in the next session of Congress there will be sustained and thoughtful debate about America’s gun culture and our responsibility to prevent more loss of life,” said Feinstein, who co-sponsored a 1994 bill that resulted in a 10-year ban on many semi-automatic guns classified as “assault weapons.”
“We have been through this too many times,” President Obama agreed. “We’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.”
New York City’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a leading voice for more gun-control legislation pushed the president to do more.
“Calling for ‘meaningful action’ is not enough,” said Bloomberg, who leads the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns. “We have heard all the rhetoric before. What we have not seen is leadership – not from the White House and not from Congress. That must end today.”
The New York Times reports at least one Capitol Hill Republican, however, argued tighter control is not the answer. “That’s one thing I hope doesn’t happen,” New York Rep. Mike Rogers told the Times. “What is the more realistic discussion is how do we target people with mental illness who use firearms?”
The New York Daily News reports Lanza was “dark and disturbed, a deeply troubled boy” who suffered from a troubled mental state, perhaps related to Asperger’s syndrome or a form of personality disorder.

Dana Loesch says Obama’s speech at vigil was political; Libs unleash torrent of hate

He just politicized a prayer service.
16 Dec 12
As Twitchy reported, the Left really, really liked President Obama’s speech at the vigil for the Newtown, Conn,. shooting victims.
Obama did not use the word “gun” but most observers agree he implied that he will be pushing for new gun control legislation.
Dana Loesch felt that Obama’s thinly-veiled call for gun control legislation amounted to politicization of the prayer service — a vigil that she felt should have been apolitical:
Dana Loesch✔
@DLoesch
This is really in poor taste. It's a prayer service. In front of the families. They need consolation, not your politics, Mr. President.

@DLoesch
Yes, I and many others believe the President dropped politics into this prayer service. If that bothers you, follow someone else.

Reasonable people can disagree about whether Obama politicized the event (and if so whether doing so was in poor taste), but the response to Loesch has been anything but reasonable. Just look:

All decent Americans are heart-sick and outraged over the Newtown, Conn. school massacre. But some citizens have completely lost their heads and souls. On Twitter, there’s a growing proliferation of sickos calling for NRA president David Keene and anyone else who belongs to the gun-rights organization to be shot.

@BayAreaHouston is not just any random Twitter user. He is John Cobarruvias, a Democratic Party precinct chair in Houston, according to Houston blog Big Jolly Politics. (Update: He is also member of the State Democratic Executive committee.)
After calling for shooting NRA members “and everyone who defends them,” Cobarruvias turned around and called the target of his incitement to violence a “domestic terrorist organization.” Self-aware much?
John Cobarruvias@BayAreaHouston
Let's face it. The #NRA is nothing but a domestic terrorist organization. They have done NOTHING to stop this violence except make excuses.

They all look so adorable and cute. Its heart breaking that they aren't here now. I don't know why but Noah has such a cute smile . I love the way he looks mischievous. But they're all adorable. All their smiles really light up their faces. I feel so sorry for their families. I saw a story about a six year old girl who played dead and they said she was the only one in her class who survived. They said she has survivors guilt. She told people all her friends were dead that was heart breaking.
