Thread: Do you support Obama Care ?

The same people who have complained ( rightly so ) about how the government runs - Veteran's care - Medicare - Medicaid - Social Security... but don't seem to have a problem with government running Obamacare ?? I do not understand.

It’s October 1, the day when unicorns frolic across the land because the “Affordable” Care Act is finally here. Finally.


One Twitter user in California successfully navigated that state’s Obamacare website and was able to get an actual quote. Alas, the plans weren’t quite as affordable as promised.

I am constantly called a liar when I tell people that if I am forced into the Exchanges that my yearly out of pocket will go up almost 700%

Right now, my insurance is very good. I have no deductible, low co pays, low prescription costs and pay $170 a month for my premiums. My wife has a chronic illness that requires very expensive monthly treatments. My insurance picks up 100% of the cost for these. Including premiums and uncovered expenses my out of pocket per year averages less than $3000

Looking into the exchanges for the silver plans my yearly out of pocket will be at least $19,500 a year because we will hit the out of pocket cap every year. Being forced into the exchanges is a very real possibility as my current plan will be considered a Cadillac Plan and subject to that tax in a few years.

No, this is not affordable and was never meant to be.

Live Chats Show Preexisting Coverage MAY Become Available, Someday

As part of the Great American Troll Off the Grassroot Journal has been collecting information being disseminated by the government through the Obamacare live-chat feature at healthcare.gov

Live-chats obtained appear to show that people with preexisting conditions do not currently have access to healthcare exchanges and whether they ever will is still murky. The following is how the live-chatters are responding to general questions about preexisting conditions:

“The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) is a temporary program providing health insurance to people denied health coverage due to a pre-existing condition. Some states have joined the federal PCIP, while some run their own program separately. Currently, none of the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plans are accepting new applicants. However, if you are already enrolled, you will continue to receive benefits until January 1, 2014. To avoid any gaps in your health insurance coverage, you can apply for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace that will begin on January 1, 2014.

On January 1, 2014, every health insurance plan in the Marketplace will be open to every eligible resident, regardless of pre-existing conditions. If you have a pre-existing condition, the Affordable Care Act offers you the opportunity to purchase health insurance through the Marketplace. There is no standardized list of pre-existing conditions. Insurance companies and states define pre-existing conditions differently. You and your household may be eligible for lower costs on monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs through the Marketplace.”

Today is an important day in American history. Today starts our governments process of desinistizing Amercans to accept socialisim as our way of life. Starting January 1st you will be punished if you choose not to purchase healthcare for yourself and each member of your family. Starting January 1st if you choose to purchase healthcare that does not meet our governments standards, you will be punished as if you did not purchase any healthcare. Starting January 1st, if you elect to keep you current, non government health care, you health care will be taxed, and every year that tax will grow untill you or your employer give in and purchase government health care. Jut remember, as our nations leaders our dictating that this is all for our good: "from each according to their abilities, and to each accoring to our needs" is a much better credo than the old fassion ideas of one nation under God and freedom from tyrany. At least, that is how we as a nation our turning.

Everybody should read this and pass it on. These are just a few of the things that seniors are going to have to deal with starting in 2014.

Your hospital Medicare admittance has just changed under Obamacare. You must be admitted by your primary care physicianin order for Medicare to pay for it.If you are admitted by an emergency room doctor, it’s treated as outpatient care where hospital costs aren’t covered. This is only the tip of the iceberg for Obamacare. Just wait to see what happens in 2014.

David Kithil of Marble Falls, TX, is a Federal Judge who has read the entire Obamacare document; he highlights the most egregious pages below.

Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.

Pages 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual's bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - ACORN).

Page 203/lines 14-15: The tax imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax.
(How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)

Pages 241 and 253: Doctors will all be paid the same regardless of specialty, and the government will set all doctors' fees.

Page 272 section 1145: Cancer hospitals will ration care according to the patient's age. At age 76, when you most need it, you are not eligible for cancer treatment.

Pages 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on hospital expansions; however, communities may petition for an exception.

Page 425, lines 4-12: The government mandates advance-care planning consultations. Those on Social Security will be required to attend an "end-of-life planning" seminar every five years…death counseling.

Page 429, lines 13-25: The government will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order.

Finally, it’s specifically stated that this bill will not apply to members of Congress. No wonder they didn’t see the need to read it....it doesn't apply to them!!!

Holy Toledo!!! The American people need to stand up to Washington…NOW!!! This is outrageous!!!

All of the above should give you the ammo you need to oppose Obamacare.

Congress which passed this BS WITHOUT reading it - then exempted themselves from it.

The White House which is busy selling this to everyone else is exempt from it.

The Supreme Court which deceided this was a tax after all the talk about "It's not a tax" then found themselves exempt from this law.

The IRS which is supposed to enforce this program also want to be exempted from it. Anyone else see a problem here ?
