    hey washington - here's a way to cut your budget. reduce your staff to part time (under 30 hours) or give out bare bones insurance to your employees, stop paying for health insurance to employee family members, have employees pay at least 50% of the cost of the insurance....and all elected officials should pay for their own insurance, cut their credit card expenses, stop all travel benefits etc. Actually it wasn't my total idea but I based it on O's proclamation that we are all equal so I think they should all get the same benefits and all pay for it like many american are and will have to

    California: Number of College Grads Working As Waiters Doubles
    by Ben Shapiro20 Nov 2012

    In California, it’s long been the joke that prospective actresses come to the state to become waitresses. Now, thanks to the Democrat-created economy, so do college graduates. The newest census shows that between 2006 and 2011, the number of college graduates working as waiters doubled. Approximately 260,000 California college graduates below the age of 30 worked in low-level menial jobs in 2011, an increase of 60,000 over 2006. The six most common menial jobs, according to the Sacramento Bee: http://www.sacbee.com/2012/11/19/499...alifornia.html

    •Retail salespeople;
    •Secretaries;
    •Retail sales supervisors;
    •Customer sales reps;
    •Waiters and waitresses;
    •Cashiers.

    Welcome to the Golden State, where all your dreams of working at McDonald’s can come true.

    Sharpton Blames GOP for Black Unemployment
    November 25, 2012

    Al Sharpton, the inflammatory leader of the black community, recently discussed his disdain for Republicans, who he blamed for inflicting high unemployment rates in the black community because they have the audacity to try and cut government programs that don’t work.

    On his show on Friday, Sharpton stated,

    “One of the reason that I think people do not understand why unemployment has gone down and in some cases black unemployment and Latino’s has remained stagnant is over the last thirty two months, Dr. Hutchinson, they’ve increased jobs and found jobs unemployment has gone down in the private sector. What has not gone down is in the public sector and blacks in particular are disproportionately in the public sector. One of the reasons those jobs have gone down, or have remained down is- One, the Republicans are cutting a lot of the agencies, where we are the employees are government jobs, government employed and a lot of those jobs go through governors and mayors who are also have had cutbacks. So what we’ve got to do and we addressed that to the President is take on these governors and mayors as well as the private sector on why the private sector is getting all these contracts and bailouts and not hiring and correcting the disproportionate amount of their employment does not touch our community and have the President and them support us in that.”
    I’ve just about had it with “identity politics.” Simultaneously, we are told that we need to see less division in America; that we need to pull together. However, leaders of the “black community,” leaders of the “Hispanic community,” and multiple other communities are all-too-eager to address the problems that affect those that identify with their ethnic or cultural background.

    Furthermore, if we applied this same rhetoric to the “white community,” it would be racist to admittedly seek to remedy problems directly facing white people.

    America needs a strong private sector. Private enterprise is what creates long-term jobs, not government. Sharpton should be interested in the economic recovery of ALL of America, not only the economic recovery of the black community.

    We need to put a stop to identity politics, where people advocate purely out of ethnic self-interest.

    Black Unemployment cannot be attributed to the GOP. It can be attributed to idiots like Al Sharpton, who have them believing they are owed something because some of their ancestors were enslaved. Racists like Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, and now the Obama's, are the reason so many blacks have bought into the Plantation Mentality, expecting the "boss" to provide for their needs. There are many very successful black people in this world, so what's stopping all the others? Laziness, love of drugs and alcohol, involvement in gangs instead of work......those are the problems, and the black leaders and communities promote these things!

    ...

    I guess that would mean I,m owed something since my great grandfather fought for the union and helped free the slaves. Al Sharpton has a hate agenda is a racist leech

    ,,

    Black unemployment is down because jobs are scarce and for some reason blacks arent looking for work. I believe that many blacks have the mind set that they can live off the teat of the government. They will halfheartedly seek employment to the guise of satisfying any State requirement to continue receipt of welfare. If you really want to work there is work to be found. Sitting on your butt watching TV or playing games is not looking for gainful employment. I say this from experience and knowing my own kind.

    ..

    This entitled attitude is a crime. When will the people rise up and reject this con game? I came from humble roots and have worked 55-65 hrs a week at my own business for over 30 yrs only to be called greedy for looking after my own. And my own includes my employees who have never missed a pay check, even when I did without one. I value them and honor them with respect and a commtment to success. I am not rich in money but I am in experience and the satisfaction of doing it my way. I fear for the coming generations who may not be able to experience my struggles and successes.

    ...

    Sharpton is the biggest rascist of all. He 'forgets' that any cuts during the last 32 months were authorized by Obama. Nothing has become law without his okay

    ...

    Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, and others that believe like these individuals do, will add to the unemployment numbers if racism ever stops. They invest in racism, not the private sector job market. How can you segregate the GOP jobs from the Demo jobs sir? Are you saying that only the GOP is creating jobs? That part may be true, 'cause Democrats only seem to know government employment. But, sir I can answer your question, it's because they don't have SKILLS. 50% of blacks drop out of school by age 16. Those dropouts do not continue getting training for skilled jobs. I've got an idea. Why don't you and Jesse Jackson, both of which have made a ton of money off the black community, reinvest some of that money and start a job training school in these communities., so these people can get the necessary skills needed to get decent jobs.

    Sharpton is a known racist. he and his buddies tried to pin a crime on an ex-cop turned lawyer probably more than 10 yrs ago. The end result was that the girl who made the accusation and tried getting money from the accused, alleged to have planned the whole false story. Sharpton and his cohorts were sued for defamation and lost). Of course if I recall he had trouble paying these fines because he did not have a job. At one time he did have an office in NYC where he wasn't paying his rent and got evicted. Being a reverend he would go to different churches and ask for money and back then that is how he supported himself. He is a character and not one that I would listen to.

    Tawana Brawley at a press conference in 1987.

    Tawana Brawley (born 1972) is an African-American woman from Wappingers Falls, New York. In 1987, at the age of 15, she received national media attention in the United States for falsely accusing six white men, some of whom were police officers, of having raped her. The accusations soon earned her notoriety, which was inflamed by Brawley's advisers (including the Reverend Al Sharpton and attorneys Alton H. Maddox and C. Vernon Mason), the statements of various public officials, and intense media attention.[1] After hearing evidence, a grand jury concluded in October 1988 that Brawley had not been the victim of a forcible sexual assault and that she herself may have created the appearance of an attack.[2] The New York prosecutor whom Brawley had accused as one of her alleged assailants successfully sued Brawley and her three advisers for defamation.[3]

    Brawley initially received considerable support from the African-American community.[4] Some scholars suggested that Brawley was victimized by biased reporting that adhered to racial stereotypes.[5][6] The mainstream media's coverage drew heated criticism from the African-American press and leaders for its treatment of the teenager.[7] The grand jury's conclusions decreased support for Brawley and her advisers. Brawley's family has maintained that the allegations were true.

    Weekly Jobless Claims Jump Up 73,000 to 430,000
    Nov 15, 2012 08:42 AM EST
    The massive shedding of jobs in light of an Obama re-election has started. Weekly jobless numbers have jumped *up* from 73,000 to 430,000 according to the Wall Street Journal. These job losses come after warning signs this week from the markets and business owners who say they can't afford to keep employees with ObamaCare and the fiscal cliff looming.

    Hurricane Sandy also had an effect on increasing these numbers. Sandy drove the number of people seeking unemployment benefits up to a seasonally adjusted 439,000 last week, the highest level in 18 months. The Labor Department said applications increased by 78,000 because a large number of applications were filed in states damaged by the storm. People can claim unemployment benefits if their workplaces close and they don't get paid.

    CNN is reporting consumer prices for October are up .1 percent.

    Gallup: Unemployment sharply rises
    posted at 8:51 am on December 6, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

    Americans got mixed messages on employment today, as two more indicators tallied up before tomorrow’s jobs report for November. Gallup’s tracking surveys on employment showed bad news, as both adjusted and unadjusted figures showed the sharpest uptick in unemployment in the last two years: http://www.gallup.com/poll/159104/un...oots-back.aspx

    U.S. unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, was 7.8% for the month of November, up significantly from 7.0% for October. Gallup’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 8.3%, nearly a one-point increase over October’s rate. …

    It is unclear what caused the increase in the unemployment rate in November, although some experts speculate that it was caused by jobs lost as a result of superstorm Sandy. It is also possible that lackluster holiday hiring is to blame.

    Although the increase in the unadjusted rate in November is a sharp contrast to the 0.9-point decline seen in October, November’s 7.8% rate is still tied for the second-best unadjusted unemployment monthly reading of 2012. However, on an adjusted basis, November’s rate is the highest reading in six months. Looking at year-to-year comparisons, seasonally adjusted unemployment is down from 8.9% in November 2011.

    Underemployment, as measured without seasonal adjustment, was 17.2% in November, a 1.3-point increase since the end of October. The uptick in November also puts an end to the six-month trend of improvements or no change. Still, underemployment has improved 0.9 points since November 2011.
    Here’s the graph for the last two years. The results don’t put us back into the 2011 time frame, but they come close — and they’re significantly worse than most people expected, even with Hurricane Sandy: http://media.hotair.com/wp/wp-conten...012-11jobs.jpg

    Meanwhile, the Department of Labor reported that the level of weekly jobless claims returned to the status quo ante Sandy, down to 370,000: http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/e...m#.UMCefJNddgs

    Reuters rightly notes that this particular drop doesn’t tell us much, http://www.cnbc.com/id/100284542 but the level is squarely within the middle of the range we’ve seen for the past 18 months. The economy is shedding jobs at roughly the same rate as we’ve seen for that period, and it’s not generating jobs quickly enough to give those workers enough options other than unemployment.

    In other words, don’t expect a dramatic shift in any direction tomorrow. Given the data from Gallup today and ADP yesterday, I’ll predict that the jobs report shows about 95,000 jobs added and a jobless rate remaining steady at 7.9%. What do you think the topline number of jobs added will be in tomorrow’s report? http://hotair.com/archives/2012/12/0...d-in-november/

    the numbers will get worse (citibank is eliminating 11000 jobs). there is an increase of people crossing the border so they will compete with americans for jobs. companies are already planning to decrease jobs due to the cost of obamacare. people will lose their full time jobs and be placed into part time jobs or just lose their jobs. I also read recently that many americans do not apply for unemployment (I do not know why since they have paid for it). the dept of labor does not differentiate between full and part time, between americans and non-americans. the fact that they showed a decrease in unemployment (before election time) even though there were less jobs available makes their numbers dubious...or maybe thousands of employed all took a space ship to mars, died, got wiped off the face of the earth, became ghosts, won the lottery.....)

    Jobs plan on the move: Petition asking White House to consider building Death Star exceeds 25,000 signatures
    By Doug Powers • December 13, 2012 06:29 PM

    Paul Krugman could write a whole book http://michellemalkin.com/2012/05/27...tack-stimulus/ explaining why we should follow through with this petition: http://thefw.com/death-star-petition

    Our favorite of these petitions this month has to be from Colorado man “John D” who, as we reported last week, wants the government to secure resources and funding to begin the construction of a Death Star by 2016.

    His rationale for building the mega-weapon from the ‘Star Wars‘ movies is as much public works project than direct threat to the little green men who could be living below Mars’ surface.

    “By focusing our defense resources into a space-superiority platform and weapon system such as a Death Star, the government can spur job creation in the fields of construction, engineering, space exploration, and more, and strengthen our national defense,” he writes.
    Petitions on the White House website require 25,000 signatures to be eligible for a response, and that number was exceeded today. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pet...-2016/wlfKzFkN

    So, would building a “Death Star” type of thing be an affordable job creator? http://thefw.com/death-star-petition/

    According a recent study it would cost $852,000,000,000,000,000 — or 13,000 times the world’s GDP — just to produce the steel required to build the weapon.
    Putting on my “Obama economic advisor” hat for a moment, that would absolutely be doable. It would be simple: Calculate how much all those battles in Star Wars would cost to fight in real life and then budget for them by spreading the cost over a thousand years. Then, call off the wars and front load the “savings” to finance construction. This deal pays for itself! And if there still isn’t enough to cover the cost, any remaining debt is probably nothing that couldn’t be erased with one push of Ben Bernanke’s QE5 button.

    Obama’s jobs council chairman on China: State run communism might not be your cup of tea, but their government works
    By Doug Powers • December 12, 2012 08:23 AM

    Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of General Electric and head of the President’s Council on Jobs & Competitiveness, http://articles.cnn.com/2011-01-21/p..._s=PM:POLITICS had a “made the trains run on time” moment on Monday while addressing the efficiency of China’s form of government — specifically economic policy http://www.snopes.com/history/govern/trains.asp

    Transcript ; http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid...ent_works.html

    CHARLIE ROSE, HOST: China is changing. It may be being stabilized as we speak. What does that mean for China and what does it mean for the United States? Should it change expectations?

    JEFF IMMELT, CEO OF GE: It is good for China. To a certain extent, Charlie, 11 percent is unsustainable. You end up getting too much stimulus or a mis-allocation of resources. They are much better off working on a more consumer-based economy, less dependent on exports. The one thing that actually works, state run communism may not be your cup of tea, but their government works.
    Sometimes the perception that a certain political system “works” depends greatly on if you’re the one driving the tank, or the one standing in front of it. The ChiCom government might be “working” for select people in the country at the top of that system or even for General Electric http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-0...s-planned.html (not to mention those who would like to use China’s vastly superior infrastructure as a model for the US http://www.nationalreview.com/campai...-and-airports# ), but there’s little doubt Immelt would have faced tough follow-up questions if his interviewer had, say, ever spent any time as a political prisoner http://rendezvous.blogs.nytimes.com/...ical-prisoner/ in Beijing No. 2. http://www.scmp.com/news/china/artic...after-10-years

    In 2009, Chinese economist Wu Jinglian indicated who he thinks the Chinese government works best for: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/27/bu...anted=all&_r=0

    He complains that business tycoons and corrupt officials have hijacked the economy and manipulated it for their own ends, a system he calls crony capitalism.
    That sounds kind of familiar. http://michellemalkin.com/2012/11/05...rooks-cronies/ Maybe that’s why Immelt is a little more comfortable with it than others are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hmwo8...layer_embedded
