The Statue of Liberty.
2 days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

When he does that it will be the beginning of a new American Revolution.
Many people hate him for his etravant lifestyle while he's telling everyone else how they have to cut back.
Heck after the dirty democrats where through stealing from me I felt like sending them to the guillotine like Loius XV and Marie Antoinette.

And yes, what an ass! He had no right to do that without asking us first as it was given to US.
It was actually on loan, but it was one of those things "keep it as long as you want it".
This is such a faux controversy. Lincoln is far more appropriate. Brown was not insulted by the return of the bust.

Do you actually think that Obama is going to return the Statue of Liberty to France? Puhleez!
Obama lives an extravegent lifestyle? He's a self made man. He lives rather modestly. Is this class envy?

How was it unexpectdly given back? It was supposed to be returned in January. Keeping something longer than agreed on is tacky and offensive.
Why does eveyone have their panties in a wad over this?
It was on LOAN to us and it was returned to the owner. I can't believe this is even news.

Mrs Pepperpot is a lady who always copes with the tricky situations that she finds herself in....

Obama was not very diplomatic there, especially for a new President, in difficult times.....we need our allies.....

If we need our allies, why did the last administration refer to our closest allies rather deprecatingly as "Old Europe."
There's no damage done here. Gordon Brown has spoken glowingly about Obama. Michelle is on the cover of every magazine. England loves the first couple.

What's the big deal?
It was a loan to Bush, it was not a gift to the United States. By rights, Bush should have returned it. Just one more thing left over from the Bush Administration for Obama to fix. If only all of the loose ends were this minor.

It was reoffered to Obama and he turned it down..... Not a 'big deal' but a faux pas....and no, not a "Bush left over"...it's a symbolic extension of a friendly hand....it's improper not to shake an extended hand of good faith....

It's improper to put your hands all over a female head of state. Obama is a thoughtful and diplomatic person.
There is no controversy here.
