Honeymoon from Hell: Top 10 Most Obnoxious Anti-Ted Cruz Quotes
    By Geoffrey Dickens

Tuesday marks the six month anniversary of Republican Ted Cruz’s election to the United States Senate, but rather than the traditional honeymoon, the liberal media have gone on the attack against the Tea Party hero and emerging 2016 presidential candidate and his conservative beliefs. In their own liberal grassroots circles, leftists have even gone as far to openly hope for Cruz’s death, as the Daily Kos screeched: “Give this man enough rope and a tree, please.”

When former Bill Clinton political strategist James Carville, on Sunday, actually credited Cruz for being “talented and fearless,” it marked a rare moment when TV viewers heard something nice about the Senator.

From CNN’s Wolf Blitzer lecturing him on his responsible fiscal cliff stance: “You’ve got to deal with reality,” to the Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart calling Cruz a “jerk,” to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews claiming hate groups “must love Ted Cruz,” the liberal media have assaulted the outspoken conservative over the last six months.

The following is a list of the Top 10 Most Obnoxious Anti-Ted Cruz quotes from the past six months:

    10. Cruz is a Lying Jerk!

Host Joe Scarborough: “He’s lying about what Republican Senators were saying in those meetings. He’s exaggerating. But, you know, he’s not lying about Democrats, he’s lying about his own party. You know, a lot of people in Washington including myself, we know what went on inside those meetings and what Ted Cruz is saying is just not true.” ...

Jonathan Capehart, Washington Post: “If there’s bipartisan agreement on Capitol Hill, it’s that Senator Cruz is a bit of a jerk. Well, maybe not a bit of a jerk. He is a jerk. Democrats don’t like him. But Republicans really can’t stand him.”

    — During a discussion of Cruz accusing Republicans of being “squishes” on gun bill, on April 30 edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
    9. Smug Wolf Blitzer Lectures Ted Cruz to “Deal With Reality”

“You’re in the minority in the United States Senate. You’ve got to deal with reality...You’ve got a divided government. You’ve got to make concessions, you’ve got to compromise. If you’re just going to come into Washington and say ‘do it my way or the highway,’ you’re not going to get anywhere.”

    — CNN’s Wolf Blitzer lecturing Republican Senator Ted Cruz on the need to compromise during fiscal cliff negotiations, The Situation Room, January 3.
    8. “Ignorant” Cruz Playing to the “Illiterates” on Guns

“This guy, what he is saying, the way he is framing his question, suggests complete, utter ignorance. I’m talking about Ted Cruz here and I have brought this up before. Complete and utter ignorance and anybody – conservative jurists will agree with me and they do, that when he goes on this line of attack about violating the Second Amendment, it suggests complete, utter ignorance of what the Second Amendment says and what Scalia, Thomas, and the conservative court said in 2008 about what the Second Amendment is and what it is not. So did Ted Cruz not go to law school? Has he ever been to law school?

    ...

I’m just wondering why would he use his seat on the Judiciary Committee if he went to Harvard to put forward a willfully ignorant statement about this bill violating the Second Amendment, because it does not. And Ted Cruz knows it does not. So who is he playing for? Is he playing for people who can’t read, for illiterates?”

    — Host Joe Scarborough attacks Cruz for taking on Senator Dianne Feinstein on her gun control bill on the March 15 Morning Joe.
    7. Matthews Attacks Cruz for Supporting Gun Rights

“And there’s your guy Ted Cruz, a well-educated guy, another one of these well-educated right wingers like Pat Robertson. It’s like they flush out their high educations when they get out of school for political purposes.”

    — Host Chris Matthews attacking Republican Senator Ted Cruz for supporting gun rights on the January 7 Hardball.
    6. Scarborough: Cruz Turned Hearing into a “Clown Show”

Joe Scarborough: “By the way, there’s a way to ask Chuck Hagel tough questions. We showed clips of Roger Wicker, who is very conservative but very respectful. And then you see – and I don’t even mention his name, the new senator from Texas who turned it into a clown show –

    Mika Brzezinski: “Oh, God.”

Scarborough: “– during his questioning and other senators that just were playing for the cameras and were trying to get a headline.”

    — During discussion about Chuck Hagel nomination hearings on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, February 1.
    5. Pro-Gun Cruz Just Like the Segregationists

“Good evening. I’m Chris Matthews in Washington. Let me start tonight with this. It used to be that the only way to get elected in the old Dixiecrat south was to be the farthest out there in backing segregation. Anyone who showed moderation was seen as soft. Anyone who talked compromise on civil rights was suspected of being on the other side. Well, to win in today’s Republican Party, which began displacing the Dixiecrats a half century ago, you have to be the farthest out there backing guns. Show moderation, you get your NRA badge ripped off you. Agree to any rule on gun safety and you’re marked as a traitor for life.

Well, it’s not just the back benchers, today some of the top people in the Republican Party, the people to watch, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz are right out there front in opposing President Obama on gun safety. So what happened? Why is the GOP the party of guns over people?”

    — Host Chris Matthews on the January 17 Hardball.
. Nasty Chris: Extremist Hate Groups “Must Love Ted Cruz”

Host Chris Matthews: “Let me go to you Brian. The way I’m chalking this up, this right wing hysteria, if you will — maybe it’s logical on their point of view, the way they’re thinking about demographic change — but guns, immigration and gays. Is that your reading, that those are the stimuli to these people when they organize these hate groups?...Who do they root for? Who do they root for?”

Brian Levin, Center for Study of Hate & Extremism: “They don’t root for anybody now.”

Matthews: “They don’t root for Rand Paul? Pat Buchanan? I mean, who? They must like this new guy Ted Cruz. They must love Ted Cruz, c’mon!”

    — Talking about white supremacists, militias and other extremist groups on MSNBC’s Hardball, March 6.
    3. David Brooks: Cruz “Has a Face That Looks a Little Like Joe McCarthy”

“So Ted Cruz is, just violates my sense. And I think if you mention the name Ted Cruz to other Senators, you just get titanic oceans of eye-rolling, because you’re a freshman, you don’t go in and take over hearings. Like hang around and learn how it’s done. And it’s like the most un-conservative act to come in two weeks into the job and decide the Senate exists for you to take it over. And so I think he’s made a lot of enemies. It doesn’t help that he has a face that looks a little like Joe McCarthy actually. So, I just, you know, I find him a little off-putting.”

    — New York Times columnist David Brooks in a 92Y Campaign for the American Conversation discussion hosted by former CBS News reporter Jeff Greenfield at the 92nd Street Y, April 21.
    2. Crushing Cruz: “Echoes of Joe McCarthy”

“You know, I don’t often say it, and I rarely say it, but there was echoes of Joe McCarthy there. Really strong echoes....The jackals are in the street tonight.”

    — Host Chris Matthews on Hardball, February 14, talking about Senator Ted Cruz’s factual observation that Iran’s foreign ministry had responded positively to Chuck Hagel’s nomination to be Defense Secretary.
    1. Scolding Cruz: A “Potentially Dangerous Demagogue”

NPR’s Nina Totenberg: “I actually know Cruz because he, for many years he argued cases for Texas in the United States Supreme Court. He is very smart. He is very glib, and he made sure that the attention was focused on him. This was not a distraction. This was Ted Cruz doing this [going after Chuck Hagel].”

Politico’s Evan Thomas: “You need to watch this guy, because there are a lot of demagogues out there, but not that many who are that smart. He is really, really smart, and that makes him potentially dangerous.”

    — Exchange on Inside Washington, February 22.
    BONUS QUOTE:

David Letterman Anoints Cruz to “Stooge of the Night” Status

Announcer: “Tonight’s ‘Stooge of the Night’ is Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.”

At the link is a video clip of each exchange http://www.mrc.org/media-reality-che...ed-cruz-quotes

Two of the things that jumped out that - to me - reveals the blinders that these "journalists" have placed upon themselves

... the only way to get elected in the old Dixiecrat south was to be the farthest out there in backing segregation.
Well, to win in today’s Republican Party, which began displacing the Dixiecrats a half century ago,
The disparaging term "Dixiecrats" is used in place of the historically accurate "DEMOCRATS" as a way of distancing and insulating themselves from the history of the Democratic Party in the Deep South.

"It’s like they flush out their high educations when they get out of school for political purposes.”
It is the Left Wingers and the Liberal that get busloads of kids out of school to attend protests -often offering the kids a grade or "extra credit bonus" for participating - be it for Union interests - illegal immigration - or gay rights. The MSM never calls them out on it - talk about "flushing education"

HELL FREEZES OVER – MSNBC Says Benghazi Cover Up Looks ‘Clintonian’ – Risk of ‘Impeachment’ (VIDEO)
    May 10, 2013 8:52 pm

Weather reports are coming in and it appears that hell may have actually frozen over. On Now With Alex Wagner (we've never sen the show) a panel of journalists is discussing the recent development in the Benghazi embassy attack and subsequent cover-up and members of the panel are saying some previously unheard of things on the MSNBC network.

As you will see in the video below the discussion goes into one member of the group saying, "Politically, this is not good for the White House" and then it just deteriorates for the Obama administration from there. The next member of the panel says, "Sure, they look terrible." Next up, another panel member when asked if this becomes an election issue says, "Sure it becomes an election issue, It becomes a 2014 issue, it becomes a 2016 issue, it becomes a, should I even say the word..." this is where hell freezes over, "that word that starts with I and has 3 syllables, that I think we all know, it becomes, you know, you know the word I mean, it becomes a potential IMPEACHMENT ISSUE as long as the Republicans are in control of the House."

Yes, you just read that from the mouth of someone broadcasting through MSNBC!

And then someone says, "I think it looks Clintonian." Well yes, being that Monica Lewinsky's, boyfriend's wife, Hillary Clinton, is involved, I would most certainly say it looks Clintonian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR8Ix...layer_embedded

This Just In: Secret Video At MSNBC Production Meetings Released
posted at 6:15 pm on May 13, 2013 by Duane Patterson

    No, it’s not about Benghazi.

Sorry, it’s not about the IRS deciding who gets audited depending upon their political persuasions or their religious beliefs.

What is going on inside of MSNBC is the news that Barack Obama’s Justice Department, for some inexplicable reason, decided in 2012 that not only was the President’s campaign staff concerned about what the media was reporting, but that they opted to secretly wiretap the offices of the Associated Press. Sources close to MSNBC came out of their planning session for how the little-watched network would cover the story.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h767...layer_embedded

Erika of course has the full story on the front page, but this leads to a bigger question.

Hugh Hewitt has long called for a select committee on Benghazi, because of the inter-jurisdictional problems of five committees involved that might step on each other. You’d have to think that’s almost a certainty now, wouldn’t you? With Benghazi, the IRS scandal, and WiretAP now busting out all over, there’s nobody in Washington busier than Darrell Issa in the House Governmental Affairs and Oversight Committee. His plate is certainly going to be full. Benghazi deserves its own investigatory committee.

We’ll soon see if the other scandals rise to that level.

Chris Matthews: Media Are 'Pro-Obama'; If President Disagrees, He's 'Crazy'

    Video: http://bit.ly/10Seapz

It is VERY RARE we get to say this... 'LIKE' if you agree --> Chris Matthews finally got something right.

Even Chris Matthews admits it. Talking to the liberal Alex Wagner on Wednesday's Hardball about the IRS scandal, the cable host came clean on the press and their love for Barack Obama. After Wagner insisted that the President was tired of an "unfair media," Matthews scoffed, "Let me tell you something. The press has generally been pro-Obama. That's a fact." If the President disagrees, "he's crazy."

The MSNBC anchor summed up the state of journalism: "I look at the major newspapers. I look at the major networks, broadcast nets. I look at us...CNN. Where's all this antipathy towards Obama?" According to Matthews, if the staff of the White House are unhappy with how they've been covered, they "are very uninformed about the history of presidencies."

Wagner set Matthews's truthful rant up by suggesting that the media makes Obama "want to flip the off switch sometimes and sort of just turn the lights out for the room and say, You know what? 'I've done so much for this country. Why do I need to get involved in the mud pit?'"

A partial transcript of the May 15 segment is below:

    5:10 ET

ALEX WAGNER: I think his own personal distaste for Washington and his sense that the media, the right, the, sort of, chattering class has been unfair about his legislative record and his accomplishments sort of makes him want to flip the off switch sometimes and sort of just turn the lights out for the room and say, "You know what? I've done so much for this country. Why do I need to get involved in the mud pit?"

CHRIS MATTHEWS [With a bit of contempt in his tone]: Let me tell you something. The press has generally been pro-Obama. That's a fact. If he doesn't think he has gotten – If he hasn't gotten good press, he is crazy.

WAGNER: I'm analyzing what I think may be happening at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

MATTHEWS: He has gotten – Yes – Alex, they, over there, are very uninformed about the history of presidencies. This guy has probably gotten the best press since Reagan. Dana, don't you think? You don't have to watch Fox if you don't want to. It's there. But, if you don't watch Fox, you don't watch Limbaugh, there's a lot of other opinion out there. I look at the major newspapers. I look at the major networks, broadcast nets. I look at us. I don't see a lot of – CNN. Where's all this antipathy towards Obama?

In other words, Obama is of the belief that unless everyone bows down, shuts up, and applauds (preferably wildly), he is being cheated, run down and victimized.

Grow up, Mr. President. Time to realize that your job is a lot more than hanging out with celebrities, giving speeches to hand-picked crowds and responding to questions from pre-selected members of the fawning press.

    ..

You nailed it. Obama LOVES the perks of his job, parties, flying around on AirForceOne, parties, Black Tie dinners, hangin with all the cool people, parties, golfing on any course in the world (on the taxpayers dime), parties, teleprompter speeches to adoring crowds, fundraisers, living large and more parties. Putting on his big boy pants and governing.... not so much.

    ..

I wonder how long it took Chrissy's interns to put his head back together after it exploded.

"This guy has probably gotten the best press since Reagan. "

Nope. The best press since Clinton. And before that, Carter. And before that, Johnson. And before that, JFK.

    ..

Reagan was constantly hounded by the media during his administration, along with both Bushes. They also portrayed Gerald Ford as a bumbling idiot and I'll bet they still throw darts at Nixon's face in their break room(s). Clinton, on the other hand, was a "good ole southern boy" and got put on a pedestal by the media almost to the height Obama was. Clinton got a pass for: Draft dodging, Whitewater, Waco, the 1993 WTC Bombing, Mogadishu, Hillarycare, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Government Shut Down, the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, the USS Cole Bombing, the failed attempts to get Bin Laden, China stealing our nuclear secrets and Elian Gonzales. Only with Monica Lewinsky and the subsequent impeachment did they (somewhat) turn on him, but even then, the media took Ken Starr out to the woodshed while giving Clinton pretty much a slap on the wrist.

    ..

The Wide Mouth Frog has a "Water is wet" revelation, and he snarling at a liberal that the WH doesn't get it! What's his leg feeling like now?

Wagner spoke a small gem: "[Obama's] own personal distaste for Washington and his sense that the media . . . has been unfair about his legislative record." By George, I think she's got it.

Well, that didn't last long. Matthews and Sharpton agree with each other that the presidents scandals are evidence of racism in the Republican Party. http://townhall.com/tipsheet/greghen...n-gop-n1597873

Matthews & Sharpton: Obama's Scandals Prove "Racism" and "White Supremacy" in GOP
    Greg Hengler | May 15, 2013

"The liberals, the progressives, the reasonable people..."

Clearly the Democrats are experiencing the five stages of grief. If yesterday was acceptance, today must be anger and denial:

    Today's Quote Of The Day

"President Obama obviously likes giving speeches more than he does running the executive branch."
    - Chris Matthews, who never bothered to notice the fact that Obama had zero resume for governance back when he got a tingle up his leg watching him speak in 2008. Matthews, whose media career has lasted seemingly since the Van Buren administration, appears to be proof that experience is wasted on morons. - THE NOONER, a daily newsletter from TheHayride.com

How do you know MSNBC is totally irrelevant and borderline insane?

Because they say absolutely absurd things like this...

    Matthews:
Obama Has 'Never Done Anything Wrong In His Life, Legally, Ethically...

    http://www.ijreview.com/2013/06/5747...ally-whatever/

I’ve been trying to ignore the fa-left drivel on MSNBC, but man, they make it hard. Case in point: Chris Matthews said last night that Barack Obama has never done anything wrong in his life. How can I let that go?

Matthews has made similar declarations in the past and he’ll undoubtedly make more of them in the future, so last night’s slobberfest wasn’t anything new. But – it was quintessential Tingles. Here ya go – with color commentary thrown in, of course.

“Why do they get the idea, if it isn’t ethnic (racist) – and I’ll just leave the possibility that it’s not (sure you will) – why do they just assume evil on the part of Obama?”
Correct me if I’m wrong, Tingles, but I don’t recall hearing or seeing any of your conservative counterparts refer to O as “evil.”

“I mean he’s raised – his whole life has been crystal clear, and clean as a whistle, and transparent.”
Do mean “crystal clear” and “transparent” as in refusing to release his college transcripts and spending in excess of a million dollars to fight the release of his birth certificate?

“We know his whole life, through all the great excellent education he’s had. The good pro bono work he’s done throughout his life. He’s never been a money grubber.”
Really? How many books has he written so far?

“He’s never done anything wrong in his life – legally, ethically, whatever.”
You mean except for smoking choom and whatever else he did with the Choom Gang, right?

His family is picture-perfect. The way he’s raised those daughters. Everything is clean as a whistle. And yet, they just refer to him as evil. They just refer to him as a liar.”
Again, Tingles, nobody is calling O a liar. It’s the “clean as a whistle” part that “they” dispute.

“I’ve just got to believe it’s ethnic (racist) with these people.”
I thought you said a minute ago that you were leaving open the possibility that it’s not racist – er “ethnic”, sorry.

They’ve just got a problem with this guy being president. (Yes, “they” do – big time.) Is there any other evidence to justify why they keep calling him a bad man?
Uh, let’s see: He promised to cut the deficit in half and he’s nearly doubled it; he’s doing his best to recreate America in the socialist model of the failed states of Europe; his non-stop class warfare rhetoric has divided the country – arguably more than it’s been divided at any time since the Civil War; and he has used the IRS and the Department of Justice – among other tools – to harass and intimidate his political opponents. Other than that, I got nothin’.

Yep, Tingles; Barack Obama is about as perfect as they come.

    Conservative Daily :

I had a person send me an email today stating that I am a racist. I find the entire idea that someone can use this as a smokescreen for their own stupidity, pathetic. Anyway, this is an excerpt of how I responded. I probably missed a few of the details but I believe you will get the point. Feel free to give me your opinion on whether you agree or disagree...

"I do not play partisan politics but the reality is, Obama is an idiot. Logic would tell you he has to be a puppet for someone, because if you turn off the teleprompter, he is like elmer fudd chasing the rabbit. As for who led us down the current path… The regime.

The politicians on both sides of the isle are responsible for the selfish intent and interests they have supported. There is no difference as there is not enough new blood in the pool to make any impact. But to blame it on anyone… Yeah, I think I can safely and accurately place the blame on the "left" side of the fence. ... They have destroyed the ethical compass and moral bearing of this nation.

They "stand for nothing" while standing against everything is what is wrong with us.

Abortion is okay, prayer in school is not.

Give everyone condoms and strip them of the ability to think for themselves by limiting intake of soda's.

God is out and being Gay is the new race.

Now, sexual preference is a badge of honor, and being a man or woman of faith is the new mockery.

Careful not to eat too much food, but make sure we have an abundance of drugs that are untested but readily approved by the FDA.

GMO's are good for Americans but banned in 79% of all other nations including almost 41% of developing nations.

As long as the drug companies who are now recognized as "people" by the supreme court keep filling the coffers,
lets keep killing americans with dangerous ingredients in food and water.

Taxes represent 61% of an average household income, and both parents working to meet the ever so increasing thirst of the government for more is now mandatory, unless that is, you are here illegally, in that case we would rather foot the bill for you to live as a dependent of the hardworking American people.

We can send millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood and talk about Abortion, but heaven forbid we even be allowed to talk to kids about options of Adoption or even abstinence.

    Lets now talk about healthcare.

We create a healthcare bill that is 2800 pages long but never stopped to understand the impact on main street America.

Stock market is rising while the wealth of the American people is diminishing daily.

And by the way, if you do decide to stand for anything and if you do have a moral compass and desire to seek real change,
we will persecute you with the IRS and any other Federal agency that we can apply to you or your business.

We will read your emails, tap your phones, put drones over your head, and when we are done with that…
we will tax you into submission all the while assuming that you, the average American are an enemy of our country."

*** that about sums it up. ***
