Well isn't that special. Teens at a Charlotte, NC Latino festival are trying to get people to sign a petition to "Drop the I-Word" ("Illegal"), which they claim is "offensive". My suggestion: How about we drop the word "immigrant" instead. Unlawfully crossing our border, or overstaying an expired visa doesn't make someone an "immigrant", but rather an "invader". The only "offensive" thing is lawbreakers who demand the same respect as those who work hard, often for years and at great expense, to become REAL "immigrants". Those we welcome. "Illegals" will continue to be described accurately.

Teen immigrants want 'illegal' dropped from immigration debate

CHARLOTTE -- The 21st annual Latin American Festival in Charlotte featured live music, local business offers, and lots of food. It was also the venue for an effort to change the way people discuss illegal immigration.

Loan Tran, a student activist with the Latin American Coalition's youth group United 4 The Dream, said they're helping a national campaign called "Drop the I-Word."

"The "i word" being the word 'illegals,'" Tran said.

But that's not the only word they're focusing on. "We're trying to get people to use terms that aren't derogatory," she said. "So 'wetback' and 'alien' - those are derogatory slurs."

Tran said they'd prefer people say "undocumented" or "no papers."

Members of the United 4 The Dream group were asking people to sign a petition, where people promised to drop the offending words from their vocabulary. It's part of a national campaign launched by ColorLines, a publication of the racial justice think tank - the Applied Research Center.

According to its site, the Drop the I-Word campaign seeks to "eradicate the dehumanizing slur 'illegals' from everyday use and public discourse."

The site states: "The i-word opens the door to racial profiling and violence and prevents truthful, respectful debate on immigration."

But not all festival-goers were eager to sign the petition. Marie Rink said she could not sign something she doesn't believe. "People coming illegally through the borders, to me, they are felons," she said. "That is wrong. It's a criminal act."

She said the lack of documents is evidence of the illegal act, not a slur. "The United States is a diverse country, it has many cultures," she said. "I honor and respect that. But there are legal channels, and that's the way people need to come in."

Organizers hope to get 10,000 signatures. So far, they have about 4,300.

Mexican President Says US Deportations Feed Violence in Mexico
    Published October 18, 2011

President Felipe Calderon on Monday accused U.S. authorities of deporting Mexican criminals to save on judicial costs, a policy that ostensibly "exacerbates" violence.

Within the framework of the inauguration of National Immigration Week 2011 in this capital, Calderon said that, for example, U.S. authorities "are deporting up to 80,000 people in a year" into the border cities of Reynosa and Ciudad Juarez.

Some of these deported people "are migrants, certainly, probably all of them," although some were "already involved in criminal acts" in the United States. "In the face of the dilemma of pursuing the legal process in the American courts, which implies costs for the administration of justice in that country, they simply prefer to deport them to border cities, by which the cycle of violence is exacerbated even more," he said.

The Mexican leader went on to say that it is "truly inhumane and scandalous" that U.S. authorities are apprehending and deporting alone and "without any protection" children as young as 6.

Those minors who cross Mexico from Central America run the risk along the way of becoming victims of "criminal bands," are exposed to the dangers of crossing the border and, in addition, confront the security forces of the United States," Calderon said. "I hope authorities in other countries become aware of how aberrant it is to leave a child to his fate in our country, without guaranteeing that he can once again find his parents or relatives," he said.

UNREAL. D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray today signed an executive order instructing police NOT to question people they arrest about their immigration status, or to share that info. A lawless decree in the nation's capitol. And remember that 5 of the 9/11 hijackers were here on expired visas, were stopped for speeding - and got away to carry out the attacks because their immigration status was NEVER checked. This is an invitation to criminals and terrorists that the seat of our Federal government is a safe zone for them. HELLO CONGRESS! What are you going to do about this?

D.C. Mayor Orders Police Not to Check Immigration Statuses, Even in Arrests
    Published October 19, 2011

The nation's capital has officially become the latest safe haven for illegal immigrants.

District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray on Wednesday signed an executive order instructing police officers not to question people about their immigration status -- even people who are arrested on other matters -- unless immigration status is directly related to a criminal investigation. "This executive order ensures public safety by ensuring that our police resources are deployed wisely and our immigrant communities feel safe cooperating with those who are sworn to protect them," Gray said in a statement. "The district is home to thousands of immigrants," he added. "If they are afraid to cooperate with authorities on criminal investigations because they fear it might endanger their presence in the United States or the presence of a loved one, then it endangers their public safety and that of our entire city."

Although district officials say the order only confirms a longstanding policy, critics still blasted the move.

"This is an abomination," said Corey Stewart, the Republican chairman-at-large of Prince William County of Virginia, which is about 25 miles south of D.C. Stewart's county has sued the Department of Homeland Security twice, seeking information on 4,000 illegal immigrants that the county has arrested and turned over to Homeland Security for deportation. "This is the capital of the United States," Stewart told FoxNews.com, "and to have the nation's capital as a sanctuary city where essentially federal law is not going to be enforced sends all the wrong messages -- not just in the United States but around the world."

The term "sanctuary city" is used to describe places where local officials refuse to enforce federal immigration laws and undocumented workers are free to seek jobs, housing or local government services without fear of deportation unless targeted by federal agencies.

Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Paul Quander said the order does not mean the district is opting out of a mandatory federal program called Secure Communities, which directs local agencies to share fingerprints collected from people in local jails with the Department of Homeland Security. The program is expected to be in place nationwide by 2013. But Stewart noted Secure Communities is only relevant once people are arrested and jailed. "So the fact they they're going to comply with Secure Communities is of little consequence."

In signing the order, Gray said he wanted to clarify that the local police in district are not in the business of enforcing federal immigration laws.

So now we're selling our sovereignty to the highest bidder? "Two Senators will introduce a bipartisan bill that would give residence visas to foreigners who spend at least $500k to buy houses in the U.S." HUH? Foreigners can already buy property here. Giving a visa with a home purchase cheapens the concept of U.S. citizenship to the point where we should just put immigration papers in boxes of Cra...cker Jacks. What about suitability screens? What about countries giving money to their citizens to come here under the pretext of buying a home for nefarious purposes like terrorism or spying? $500k is nothing to the Iranians or Chinese. I expect crap like this from Chuck Schumer, but Mike Lee? The inmates are running the asylum in D.C.

Senators Draft Bill to Give Visas to Foreigners Buying Pricey Homes
Published October 20, 2011 The Wall Street Journal

The reeling housing market has come to this: To shore it up, two Senators are preparing to introduce a bipartisan bill Thursday that would give residence visas to foreigners who spend at least $500,000 to buy houses in the U.S.

The provision is part of a larger package of immigration measures, co-authored by Sens. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Mike Lee, R-Utah, designed to spur more foreign investment in the U.S.

Foreigners have accounted for a growing share of home purchases in South Florida, Southern California, Arizona and other hard-hit markets. Chinese and Canadian buyers, among others, are taking advantage not only of big declines in U.S. home prices and reduced competition from Americans but also of favorable foreign exchange rates.

To fuel this demand, the proposed measure would offer visas to any foreigner making a cash investment of at least $500,000 on residential real-estate-a single-family house, condo or townhouse. Applicants can spend the entire amount on one house or spend as little as $250,000 on a residence and invest the rest in other residential real estate, which can be rented out.

The measure would complement existing visa programs that allow foreigners to enter the U.S. if they invest in new businesses that create jobs. Backers believe the initiative would help soak up an excess supply of inventory when many would-be American home buyers are holding back because they're concerned about their jobs or because they would have to take a big loss to sell their current house. "This is a way to create more demand without costing the federal government a nickel," Sen. Schumer said in an interview.

Our good friend Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) has an excellent op-ed this morning regarding Obama's backdoor amnesty: "The President is sending a clear message to anyone who wants to enter the U.S. illegally: Come on over; our back door is wide open. The law does not apply to you—just don’t kill anyone. This policy of selective enforcement emboldens those who want to come into this country illegally and the 11 million people who are already here. If the federal government does not take our own laws seriously enough to enforce them, why should we expect illegals to follow them?"

All Hail the Chief Ignorer of the Law (Especially Illegal Immigrants)
    by Rep. Ted Poe 10/21/2011

The President of the United States , chief enforcer of the law, has decided not to enforce, but instead to ignore our nation’s immigration laws. Current federal law requires that people who come to the United States illegally be deported. As most of us learned in the seventh grade, the Constitution mandates that the President executes the law of the land.

When he took office, Obama swore to uphold the Constitution, but once again, he seems to be at odds with it. Under the guise of compassion, his administration has issued a decree with 19 categories of illegals to be taken out of the deportation pipeline and given a free pass to live in the United States. This is nothing more than political pandering by the campaigner-in-chief, who is behaving more like an anointed king than the President of the United States. The President has no right or authority to pick and choose what laws he wants to enforce. His attempt to unilaterally loosen immigration enforcement is jeopardizing the sovereignty and security of an already unsecure border.

There are roughly 300,000 illegal immigrants facing deportation from the United States. The administration wants to pick and choose who is first to go, and who gets to stay. If it had its way, only dangerous criminals would be deported, and many of the other illegals who have already committed a crime by entering this country illegally would get a free pass to stay in the United States. This includes those who have not contributed to our system, but who have reaped all of the benefits, courtesy of the American taxpayer.

The President is sending a clear message to anyone who wants to enter the United States illegally: Come on over; our back door is wide open. The law does not apply to you—just don’t kill anyone. This policy of selective enforcement emboldens those who want to come into this country illegally and the 11 million people who are already here. If the federal government does not take our own laws seriously enough to enforce them, why should we expect illegals to follow them?

This looks a lot like backdoor amnesty to any normal citizen. It also resembles the not-so-dreamy DREAM (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) Act that Congress has already considered and rejected once before. Congress has over and over defeated attempts to “reform” immigration by granting amnesty to illegal immigrants. Why? Because people should only be able to live in this country if they play by our rules. We do have a front door. And many great people have come through it and made this country a better place. People who come here legally and pay taxes should all have the right to pursue the American dream, but those who defy the law of the land by sneaking in the back door do not automatically deserve the right to stay here just because they haven’t hurt anyone.

The blissful ignorance of the easy access to America at our southern border is costing us more than just our security. The escalating cost of an unsecured border is a fact that we simply cannot afford to ignore anymore. We cannot continue to allow the economic drain that illegal entry imposes on every aspect of our society. Hospitals have become burdened with the heavy cost of accommodating illegals to the point where important services are interrupted for Americans. When I was in Arizona recently, I learned that in Cochise County, on the border, a woman has to drive as far as 90 miles to reach a hospital with a maternity ward that will deliver her baby, because many hospitals have shut down their maternity wards due to the high cost of illegals giving birth. Twenty-seven per cent of the inmates in U.S. prisons are not U.S. citizens, but the prisons are funded by U.S. taxpayers. Schools are overcrowded and burdened with the extra cost—to the tune of $52 billion a year—of educating the children of illegals. Between the overcrowded classrooms and the extra supplies and attention required to accommodate more students, there is no way that the education of American children does not suffer.

In the month of September, for the first time since World War II, the economy had net zero jobs created for a month. The unemployment rate is at 9.1%. People want to see jobs going to taxpaying Americans, not people living here illegally. Something must be done to reform immigration, but the American people have rejected amnesty in every form that it has been presented. We cannot treat those here illegally better than our legal citizens.

This administration has a habit of not enforcing the laws that it doesn’t like. The chief enforcer of the law is now the Chief ignorer of the law. And what it comes down to is that the chief ignorer—also known as the campaigner-in-chief—is so nervous about the Hispanic vote in his reelection that he is willing to bypass Congress and the Constitution to appease his political base. This pandering is disingenuous and disgusting. Through the flawed policy of selective enforcement, the administration is ignoring its constitutional duty, undermining Congress and the will of the people, and endorsing backdoor amnesty.

President Obama was not anointed as king above the law. His constitutional duty is to execute the law. And the law says that those who come to this country must do so legally, through the front door. And people who comer here illegally, are disrespecting our law, our country and our citizens. American citizenship is an earned privilege, not a universal right that includes illegals who enter, even if with the blessing of the chief ignorer of the law.

Meanwhile, the administration has chosen instead to use resources to vigorously prosecute an American guitar makers for allegedly bringing in illegal wood from Madagascar. God forbid we let illegal wood into the U.S.

And that’s just the way it is.

If it's the Fall, it's the Democrats pushing amnesty for illegals. CNN says Obama and his merry band of Senate corruptocrats will AGAIN push an amnesty bill and the 'DREAM Act' "as early as December". Will it pass? Not a chance. So why bother? To "keep Hispanic voters in the fold". So there you have it. Obama and Reid have no interest whatsoever in securing the border, or freeing up jobs held by illegals, for 20 million unemployed Americans. They will waste an entire month of legislative time to troll for votes. It will FAIL. Amnesty is more unpopular than ever. They will find out the hard way come November 2012.

Democrats consider new immigration reform push
Posted by CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger October 24th, 2011

Washington (CNN) – Democratic sources tell CNN that it's likely that Democrats on Capitol Hill –with the approval of the White House– will re-introduce some form of immigration reform, possibly as early as December. At this point, the details of any plan are unclear. But what is clear is that Democrats are interested in using their version of reform as a "contrast issue" to Republicans, who largely emphasize border security.

Sources say there are ongoing discussions among Democrats ranging from re-introducing comprehensive reform to bringing up the Dream Act again, which would allow the children of illegal immigrants who go to college or serve in the military to become citizens. The Dream Act was defeated last year.

Another possibility being considered is to combine a tough border security plan introduced by Arizona Republican Sens. John McCain and Jon Kyl with a form of the Dream Act. "Nothing has been decided," says one Senate Democratic leadership aide. But, he adds, "there's a lot of interest."

While there is almost no expectation that a major immigration bill could pass Congress in an election year, it provides a way to distinguish Democrats from the GOP debate on immigration-and potentially keep Hispanic voters in the fold. Hispanic activists have been disappointed in Democrats' failure to pass major immigration legislation, but Democrats are betting the contrast with Republicans could bring Hispanics back to the party and out to vote.

So far, the Republican presidential primary contest has focused on strong border security questions. Herman Cain was forced to backtrack on his controversial statement on the need to electrify a border fence, calling it a "joke.' And Texas Governor Rick Perry came under fire from the other GOP candidates for his state's legislation allowing the children of illegal immigrants to pay in-state college tuition.

The division between the parties could not be more stark: Republican contenders believe you can't be too conservative when it comes to immigration. Democrats see the GOP positions as an opportunity to regain some lost ground.

With the Latino population growing, both parties are expected to make major plays for its vote next year with Democrats hoping to repeat the results from 2008. According to CNN's exit poll, President Barack Obama captured 67% of the Latino vote then while McCain got 31%. Hispanics make up parts of the electorate in key battleground states, such as Florida, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado, and in order for President Obama to do well there again, he needs good turnout from that population.

The biggest problem with immigration reform is the cry that deportation breaks up families. I do not subscribe to that argument. The parents knew the risk, accepted the risk, and unfortunately the parents imposed that risk upon their own children.

If a parent were to commit some crime that calls for a long prison sentence, no one claims that breaks up families because that is what our justice system calls for. If the justice for the crime calls for deportation, then so be it. The parent has the choice to take the children with them. I find the "break up families" argument as substantive as Mrs. Rick Perry saying that her son lost her job because of regulations in the financial industry.

    ...

Great idea for the dems! Present a bill that they know that has no chance to pass, promise the Mexicans the world to get their vote.
Then after the election, business usual. Forget about them until next election and deport enough illegals to keep the heat off and wait until the next election and do them all over again.

Americans is suffering the longest sustained bout of high unemployment since the Great Depression. But Obama’s ICE has slashed workplace enforcement against illegals by a stunning 70 PERCENT since he took office! But at least there is one official who is still actively removing illegal aliens from our society: Sheriff Joe Arpaio. ‘Banner Week’ in Sheriff Joe’s Battle Against Illegal Immigration (54 Illegals Netted)
By John Hill on March 23, 2012

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has all but shut down its workplace enforcement activities since Obama took office. Even with the longest sustained bout of high unemployment since the Great Depression, Obama’s ICE has slashed workplace enforcement against illegals by a stunning 70 percent.

ICE claims they are leaving illegal workers alone to steal jobs in order to have a “sustained focus on criminal offenders“. But as we pointed out on Wednesday, ICE has failed with criminals as well, highlighted by their release of a serial child rapist – with 42 counts – who remains at large.

But at least there is one official who is still actively removing illegal aliens from our society: Sheriff Joe Arpaio. And Arpaio and his deputies have had a banner week, capturing 54 illegal aliens in 3 separate raids over a 72-hour period.

The arrests came from human smuggling operations and employer sanctions investigations as well as an animal cruelty case involving cockfighting. All the illegals were booked into the Maricopa County Jail.

In the human smuggling case, deputies yesterday arrested six illegal aliens who were being smuggled from Mexico, and headed to California, Colorado and Phoenix. All were Mexican nationals.

In the employer sanction case, deputies arrested 31 of employees working at 21st Century Laboratories in Tempe, Arizona and booked them on charges of identification theft, a class four felony. It was the 58th employer sanctions case conducted by Arpaio’s deputies and resulted in one of the largest number of employee arrests to date. All arrested were illegal aliens.

In the previous 57 employer sanctions/identity theft operations, 100% of all suspects found to be committing identity theft to gain employment were illegal aliens. The Maricopa County Sheriff ’s office has investigated, arrested on the streets and in the jails over 51,000 illegal aliens.

Also this week, a large inner city cock fighting ring was busted by Sheriff’s deputies and 31 suspects, 17 of whom were later determined to be illegal aliens, were taken into custody.

Few Americans know just how much of the dirty work of the nation’s immigration enforcement is completed by Arpaio and his deputies each year – more than even in the face of the Obama retreat. Arpaio’s office – in a single county – apprehends a staggering 25% of all criminal illegal aliens in the entire United States every year.

That means he doesn’t just keep illegal alien criminals out of Arizona cities, but since Arizona is the gateway for illegal entry into the U.S., he also keeps them from threatening Americans from coast to coast.

For every illegal alien with a job there is an American without one. And once again, Sheriff Joe is doing the job Obama refuses to do.

So can you blame Sheriff Joe for asking why Obama doesn’t thank him?

131 illegal immigrants found during raid at Texas 'stash house'
    By Msnbc.com staff and wire

Federal agents have arrested four people accused of smuggling 131 illegal immigrants found at a "stash house" in south Texas, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official said Wednesday. The immigrants were also detained Tuesday after a raid at a house near Alton, Texas, about eight miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, ICE spokeswoman Nina Pruneda said. The people at the house were from Mexico and Central America, and did not require medical attention, she said.

The Monitor newspaper, which covers the Rio Grande Valley, said Salvador Hernandez, 52, had just left his house with his elderly parents when the normally quiet neighborhood was suddenly surrounded by ICE agents. "I have been living here for 28 years and have never seen anything like that happen,” he told the paper.

Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley, which straddles the southern tip of Texas along the Gulf Coast, have seen the number of so-called "stash houses" used to house illegal immigrants roughly double since October 2011, according to agency figures.

    'Welcome to Hell'
In one of the more brutal recent cases, two men pleaded guilty on Wednesday to harboring 115 immigrants -- some without food or water for days -- in a cluster of stash houses in Edinburg, Texas.

Vicente Ortiz Soto and Marcial Salas Gardunio, both 23-year-old Mexican citizens, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to harbor aliens on Wednesday in U.S. District Court, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson, who represents the Southern District of Texas. Several of the immigrants required medical attention after authorities found dozens of them locked inside a crowded, hot, ramshackle house, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case.

One immigrant told ICE agents that Salas would greet new arrivals with "Welcome to Hell" when they arrived at the residence and threatened to beat or kill them if they did not remain quiet, court papers state. Ortiz admitted to driving immigrants to the stash houses from the border and selling them snacks.

Illegal immigrants arrested in phony UPS van
Associated Press – 11 hrs ago.

NILAND, Calif. (AP) — It was a special delivery indeed — 13 suspected illegal immigrants from Mexico stuffed in a phony UPS van.

The U.S. Border Patrol said Tuesday that agents stopped the van Friday as the driver tried to circumvent a highway checkpoint near Niland, about 150 miles east of San Diego in California's Imperial Valley, near the Mexican border. The van looked like a legitimate United Parcel Service delivery vehicle, except the company decal on the back door was slightly crooked. The driver, U.S. citizen Daniel Lopez, was charged in federal court in El Centro with illegal transportation of aliens, authorities said.

Carlos Goens, the driver of another truck, was charged with the same crime after being detained at a Border Patrol checkpoint. He is suspected of coordinating with the UPS van. Migrants told authorities they had agreed to pay between $5,000 and $8,000 each to be smuggled into the United States, according to the criminal complaint.

An agent reported seeing Goens leave a suspected stash house for illegal immigrants in the town of Brawley, leading authorities to the UPS vehicle. Another agent pulled over the UPS van at a mobile home park in Niland.

Attorneys for Goens and Lopez did not immediately respond to phone messages Wednesday.

Border Patrol agents recently began visiting Imperial Valley businesses and government agencies to warn about smugglers cloning their vehicles, said spokesman Adrian Corona. Telltale signs include misspellings on agency or company logos and crooked decals. In recent years, smugglers have used fake vehicles of the California Highway Patrol and Imperial Irrigation District.

Last year, a white van filled with 13 illegal immigrants from Mexico dressed as clean-cut Marines were stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint near San Diego. A Border Patrol agent who had served in the Marine Corps wasn't fooled, especially when the driver didn't know the Corps' birthday.

I really like the term "invader" to describe the illegal entry of foreigners.

Indiana is sick and tired of illegal aliens, and sicker still of the Federal failure to do something about them. Last year they passed their own version of Arizona's immigration law - which included mandatory E-Verify, denial of welfare to illegals, and a ban on the "Matricula Consular" card. The also also included the novel requirement that the state to calculate the annual cost of illegal aliens to the state - and bill Washington, D.C. for it. This year's cost? $131 million - which likely understates the true amount by as much as 5 TIMES. FAIR estimates the total ANNUAL cost to the U.S. for illegal aliens is a staggering $113 BILLION. Tell YOUR state to send D.C. its bill, and SUE them for it.

Go Hoosiers! Indiana Sends Congress the Bill for the Cost of Illegal Aliens
By John Hill on July 1, 2012

Last year they passed their own version of Arizona’s immigration law – which included mandatory E-Verify for all businesses, with penalties, verification of immigration status when passing out state welfare benefits, and a ban on the acceptance of Mexico’s fraud-friendly “Matricula Consular” card. https://www.numbersusa.com/content/n...ment-bill.html Part of the law was blocked by a Federal judge, but the bulk remains in effect. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...75O09R20110625

Part of that law also requires the state to calculate the annual cost of illegal aliens to the state – and bill Washington, D.C. for it. http://www.wishtv.com//dpp/news/poli...mmigration-tab This year’s cost? $130.9 million.

Budget Director Adam Horst sent Congress a bill for the amount Friday. Congress is not expected to act on the request, however. It’s not like Indiana is asking to fund a bridge to nowhere or a Chinese wind turbine company. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2010...for-wind-farm/

Horst estimated $110.6 million of the state’s illegal immigrant costs have been for K-12 education. He estimated prison costs at $12.3 million and welfare costs at nearly $8 million. And officials acknowledge that this estimate may in fact understate the actual cost by as much as 5 times! This, because school officials are not permitted to ask the immigration status of children in school, as Alabama’s HB56 mandates. Nor have officials yet obtained a recent estimate of illegal alien welfare access under the new law, or estimate welfare fraud or identity theft costs by illegal aliens. and most significantly, the figures do not take into account the anchor babies of illegal aliens and their massive cost to the state. Our good friends at the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) have crunched those numbers, and their estimate for Indiana (2009) was a staggering $608.5 million – for a single state! http://www.fairus.org/states/indiana

In all, FAIR estimates that illegal aliens cost the United States a mind-boggling $113 BILLION each and every year – far more than the annual estimated cost of the entire ObamaCare program. Gateway states like Arizona are hit especially hard, sunk by illegals to the tune of $2.5 billion a year.

In the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling on S.B. 1070, Justice Anthony Kennedy asserted that immigration was to be governed by Federal laws, based upon the Constitution’s granting of the power of “naturalization” to the Congress.

However Kennedy’s ruling has a clear flip side, another section of the Constitution that – if the Court compelled its enforcement – would make laws like Arizona’s and Indiana’s completely unnecessary…Article IV, Section 4:

“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion….”

We urge every other state to do what Indiana has done, and send their bills for illegal aliens to Washington, D.C. – but not to stop there. They need to SUE the Federal government for these costs, and to force the Feds to obey the charge our Founders commanded – SECURE THE BORDERS. Kennedy’s ruling sets a clear precedent to support such lawsuits.

Tell YOUR state representatives and Governor to demand Washington bureaucrats do their jobs to protect the states from illegal aliens, drug and human smugglers, gangs and “OTM” terrorists – secure the borders now, or pay the price.

Great idea! I think all states should do this - it won't make any difference but at least the state's citizens will know where their tax dollars go - remember the states and the feds have no money of their own - it's your money.

    ...

should also be able to sue the country of there origin for the money and for the cost of deporting them and imprisoning them.

    ...

If the costs came directly from the pockets of every individual Congressman, it would be effective.

    ..

When it comes to the subject of illegal immigration, it's a crapshoot. I'll hold my nose for this one since it promotes open government. All Americans, Republican or Democrat, deserve to know exactly how much government costs.

The main problem is that only one side is shown. I'm not a big fan of immigration sob-stories. Mainly because budgets are numbers-based affairs. The xenophobic mentality will be present unless the economic costs are shown. My personal favorite cost demonstration? Go ask a farmer from Alabama, who now can't feed himself, let alone his fellow Americans, because all his employees have left the state.

My personal wish? That they all could be sent home. At once. Not because I want them all to go, but because I want to see xenophobes moan at the tripling of their price of food. You and your children get to starve, because you got EXACTLY what you asked for. Nothing like empty stomachs to focus people.

    ...

The south survived without slavery...the farmers will survive without their slave labor. There is a guest worker program. All they need to do is utilize it.

    ..

Xenophobes? Triple cost of food? NOPE... food costs will go down because our system is not being drained by ILLEGAL aliens and their kids sucking our benefits dry and still managing to poison our foods with e-coli because of sub-standard work. We're from Alabama and we're doing quite nicely thank you very much. A lot less money is spent on law-breaking (stealing, drunk driver killings, domestic violence, ignorance of traffic laws here, etc etc etc) That "food costs will rise" thing does not wash.

68 hospitals in California alone have gone bankrupt over the past 5 years on account of unpaid bills by illegal alien invaders.
