Re: Subject: More from Charley Daniels
Seven soldiers have been convicted by US courts martial in connection with the scandal at Abu Ghraib. Two others are still on trial.
================================================== ========
This is the last paragraph. What more do you want our government to do? Execute the soldiers? They put them in jail and are still investigating more. These soldiers are in jail until their trial so they are being treated just like the ones in GITMO.
Not sure why the children are being held but it may be they have no other place to go with their parents in jail. Our country would not let them go with no means of support.

Re: Subject: More from Charley Daniels
Yes Janelle we were so concerned about their well being we allowed them to be sodomised and someone filmed it. What do I want? I want this kind of thing to stop I want the people at the top who ordered this kind of treatment and sanctioned this kind of treatment punished not a few peons who were tossed out as the only ones doing this and took the fall for them all. When you have a President who has his legal counsel look into the definition of torture and then goes on to ignore the Geneva Convention rules on POWs, is any of this a real surprise? There is evidence of blatant abuse of the prisoners at Abu Gharib, there is evidence of blatant abuse of the prisoners at Guantanamo given to you by Amnesty International and the Red Cross and you and many others here seem to support that abuse. These people are POWs they have not been proven to be criminals, some of them have been released and have told how badly they were treated. You seem to support this torture, rape and not being given a trial, held for years without a lawyer. When a liberal who happens to be an actor speaks out you are always one of the first to jump on the bandwagon to condemn the actor but now we are all supposed to believe this country music entertainer's words as gospel, just because he obviously is a republican.

Re: Subject: More from Charley Daniels
No, because he has been there. I don't believe the other actors or non-actors who have not been there but just want to run their mouths.
Why won't you believe they are investigating it and the quilty will be punished? Some are already in jail and others are waiting trial and are waiting in jail until they get the trial.

Re: Subject: More from Charley Daniels
Because Amnesty International and the red cross says different and I also don't believe Daniels is qualified to speak on this, did he see every prisoner, or did he just hobnob with the brass? I'm betting the latter would be true and what the devil is Daniels getting a grand tour of a prison for?

You asked
(Why won't you believe they are investigating it and the quilty will be punished? Some are already in jail and others are waiting trial and are waiting in jail until they get the trial.)
Here is why.

White House Lobbies GOP Senators Not to Pass Anti-Torture Bill
Meanwhile the Washington Post reports the Bush administration is lobbying to block legislation supported by Republican senators to regulate the treatment of detainees held overseas. The bill would bar the U.S. military from engaging in "cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment" of detainees, from hiding prisoners from the Red Cross, and from using interrogation methods not authorized by a new Army field manual. According to the paper, Vice President Dick Cheney met last week with three senior Republican members of the Senate Armed Services Committee to press the administration's case that legislation on these matters would usurp the president's authority. One White House official said the bill would interfere with the president's ability to " protect Americans effectively from terrorist attack."

Re: Subject: More from Charley Daniels
you know, if we were even half as concerned over the citizens of the USA as we are of the ones at GITMO we wouldnt have all the homeless we have. we wouldnt have people who have to go hungry so their children can eat, we wouldnt have people without healthcare. these people at GITMO are hard core killers, and for the most part they get better treatment than me. free food, free shelter, free healthcare. pfft send me to jail so i can have the freakin luxury of that. fry them all i say, hell they want to kill us anyways, so why not just take them out?

Are you even bothering to read whats been posted since I have told you over and over not all of them are guilty of anything and many have been allowed to leave? I have provided links telling you this. Have you bothered reading that there are 87 pics and 4 videos the pentagon has been ordered to release from abu Gharib showing torture, rape of some of the women detainees and the sodomising of children, and murder.
As for all the ills of this US you speak of, it has only gotten worse since Bush has gotten elected.
