Ok, yet again these people are in the news and CB has joined in now, although the article didn't say she was a Scientologist, but just a friend or TC. I'm so sick of this! Why can celebs spout off at the mouth and it's ok because they are celebs? If I started preaching I'd be put in jail for disturbing the peace. Not that Scientology is a religion, IMO. Come on...aliens?? I believe in aliens, but not that they are in my body!! No psychiatric meds for my OCD???? OMG I can tell the difference when I am on or off meds and yes TC there is evidence of OCD on brain scans. The frontal lobe is more active than a normal person's who doesn't have OCD. My sis is manic depressive and by Gosh when she was off her meds she was wild!!! This whole thing just p1sses me off! It's like celebs who support politicians, they are actors, stay out of politics! I can't get up on stage and support my fav politician because I'm not rich and famous and able to influence peoples' minds. Whoopi Goldberg p1ssed my whole family off a few years ago when she butt her head in about things going on in Cincinatti. I'm so sick of this! KP talks about meds that cause sucide and such. Did it ever occur to her that the people on those meds are on them because they are already suicidal?? What about all of the unexplained suicides/murders accociated with Scientolgy?? Guess it's ok in cults!

I think you are letting it get to you. Or is there an underlying complaint? Cause you mention if you were preaching then you would be disturbing the peace. If a celeb is being interviewed than it isn't disturbing the peace. Screaming in public is.

I don't really know all that much about Scientology. It's something I'm interested in finding out more about. It's not that I want to convert or anything but I do like learning about different religions.

Here's some info for ya -- this is what they do to the mentally ill. Make sure and read the church logs from her stay as well. Beware the autopsy photos -- the first set are just some of her injuries but they posted the entire set on another page w/ a link and those are far more graphic.

I could have worded that a little better. What it is is celebs are all over tv, magazines, newspapers, people even read their blogs just because they are celebs! Because they are famous, some with talent, some without, they can say and do whatever they want, get away with it and it makes the headlines. Most of the time they have no idea what they are talking about. Now, I'm a regular everyday person and I can't even get the word out in my area about a support group for parents of preemies. Isn't there something wrong with that?? If I stood on the corner and passed out fliers they's find some reason to boot me off, but everytime I log in to read my mail there's another celeb doing/saying something stupid. I just hate how they have power the rest of us don't. I'm soooo sick of hearing about Oprah play the race card. She says she wasn't let into the shop in France because she was black, but other white celebs were allowed in after close. Ok ya if we follow her train of thought through to completion shouldn't everyone, celeb or regular be allowed in after hours then? Why do they live by a different set of rules? Here in Ohio if someone with Michael Jackson's history was going through what he just did their kids would have been taken away until the courts decided. But, noooo he got to keep his because he's a celeb. I'm sick of their being different sets of rules in this world.

I looked at that before and could not believe it!! There's another site on all of the suspicious deaths. It's scary. Isn't it really scary knowing how many celebs are part of this? At least they aren't all spouting off at the mouth, yet.

I think what they do with their lives is their business... whether they are talking about it to the media or not. Nothing to get upset about unless it affects you directly.

They do NOT have any control over us... unless there is something I am missing.

If you were a celebrity, you would also speak out about something you believed in. Nothing wrong with that.

Ok my disclaimer: as the daughter and sister of shrinks, I have a pretty biased point of view against Scientology. Since I can’t really be objective I’ll keep my negative thoughts to myself. That being said they have helped a lot of people lead successful lives, lots of CEOs there, in addition to celebs and they have rehabbed thousands of drug addicts. I know a few Scientologists, they’re normal, happy people. The one thing they seem to have is in common is a zest for life you don’t see that often in this country.

With all the rumors flying, their beliefs sound really strange but I don’t find them any stranger than thousands of people being zapped off the earth during the rapture or that the earth is only 6000 years old. As far as the wrongful death suit, look at the hundreds filed against Christian churches for deaths during exorcisms etc. Doesn't mean either religion is totally bad. Bottom line is they’ve found a philosophy that works for them and that’s a good thing.

If you were a celebrity, you would also speak out about something you believed in. Nothing wrong with that.

They may not have control over you and me -- but if the practice of their religion is actively killing ppl (and if you read the site you will see that it is) then it is wrong for anyone to sit back and not say anything.

Abuse of children and animals isn't the only thing ppl should get upset about... vulnerable mentally ill adults who can't help themselves should get our help as well.

I'm not "up" on religions, but there is another (or maybe many, for all I know) that don't allow any sort of medical treatment for any reason and people have died from it. I don't see why this is any different.

People of the Jehovah's Witness faith die everyday because they refuse to be given blood products... thats not any different either.

I'll go read the Scientology site and then I'll see how I feel, but if people are dying because they choose to live by a certain religion, then thats still not affecting me.

Suicide bombers die for their religion.. yes they take other with them, but they are so passionate that they also give up their own lives as well.

I'll go read it and I'll come back... who knows, maybe I'll do a 360
