    Question Am I wrong ?

Without getting "flamed" ... do you think this is a "scam" >>

PLEASE HELP US SAVE IVAN'S LIFE

I am so sorry for this tragic photo, it is not what we ever want to post, but this is poor baby Ivan's reality. In an earlier post we described how Ivan was found after being abused and neglected and rescued by his current family. Someone had left an eye infection untreated for Ivan causing him to lose his eyesight. Severe traumatic injury (beaten, mauled or hit by a car) caused a diaphragmatic hernia which has caused some of Ivan's organs to displace, and he has a collapsed lung. Ivan has seen a specialist and urgently needs surgery to correct these issues. With surgery, they believe Ivan has a very good prognosis. This little guy has seen so much abuse and neglect. Please help us give him a chance at life, his only chance, by donating at http://fortheloveofalex.org/donate.html and please type "Ivan" in the referred by box. We need to raise $2500 for Ivan's operation. Words can't express our gratitude for your help.

PLEASE DON'T LET US FAIL THESE PETS IN NEED : We are trying to help several cases this week and coming up short. We just can't let these beautiful animals down. For Cody who tragically re-broke his leg we are short $2500; For Ozzy's mauling surgery we are short $2200; Luna's vet bills exceed $3000 after being struck by a car; Libra is still $700 short for her vet bill and mass removal surgery; Lulu needs $300 more to get her heartworm treatment, and Howie needs $500 to cover his emergency visit and chronic kidney disease treatment coming up on Tuesday. We are an all volunteer organization and also donate everything we can but we need your help! Please help us help these beautiful pets and their families with a small donation at http://fortheloveofalex.org/ We cannot do this without your help. Thank you so much!

    Isn't this a bit much ???

As a former pet owner, I would never let my pet live through any of these injuries.

People think they're helping their pets by spending thousands of dollars to keep their pet around. Chances are, the pet is in pain, and just can't tell you.

The site looks like a scam to me. I can't find anything about it on Google, except what's on their own webpage, and it says they're out of Pennsylvania, but ''whois.com'' says they're registered in Jacksonville, Fl. (and that the site just started this past May.)

That's a lot of money. If one is going to donate that kind of cash, donate it to a shelter that will save many lives of animals...not just one. JMO

I haven't posted on this board in ages, but thought I'd jump in, as I was also curious about this group.

I'm thinking this could actually be a legitimate organization. I found this Charitable Solicitations Program Charity Profile Report: http://www.sos.wa.gov/charities/sear...?charity_id=34 and also found their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/fortheloveofalexinc

One of their posts says, "all of these animals have loving homes. Our organization helps pets in need of urgent care whose families have no where else to turn for help."

Many people treat their pets as members of the family and it often does cost thousands of dollars of veterinary services for sick or injured pets. My vet will sometimes ask for donations to help out when they know of a family who can't afford the medical bills for their pet's treatment, and this organization sounds like it does the same thing for a any family who needs this type of help. Looks like they're just asking for whatever people can afford to give to help out with these large vet bills.
I had a thought once, but now I can't remember what it was.

There was a lady locally who stole 20k in donations for a cat. It really kills it for me when ppl do this... but we did spend 600+ on one of our dogs and we would again assuming we had it. As for donations, I'd give it to our local shelter rather than someone online.
