I was thinking about this this morning. It seems I have fond memories from growing up but I just don't feel like I'm giving my kids those fond memories for when they grow up. It's like I just don't have it in me to decorate and celebrate.....

Everybody's grown and gone here but I still put up holiday decorations just because I enjoy them.
I don't do as much since it's all up to me but friends and family do seem to like them.
I didn't put up any decorations or tree last year,no one was coming home and just didn't feel like Christmas either.Going to decorate this year even kinda excited about it,just takes alot of time.Lot of work but really do enjoy the lights and all.
Christmas will be more of a downer this year...my grandma just passed away last night. I AM going to decorate this year, though, even if it's by myself. She always enjoyed looking at our tree, lights and decorations so I'll do it for her.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
I am so sorry for your loss. It's especially sad when it happens around the holidays. ((ilikefree))
I am sorry for your loss.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Ilikefree.
We lost my husband's mother on Christmas morning so I know all about the downers of the holiday.
Pepperpot, that's funny that you say that. I think we had it better as kids because we all had less. Things were slower back in the day & it made for more magic of the season. Now it's a huge fight. Fight for sales, fights over people allowing to celebrate Christmas, fights in traffic. Fights fights fights. That is what this time of year has become
I'm so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. :hug
Well put all you decorations up, wrap the presents...and when your unwrapping them all (because you bought for yourself) and when they ask, where's mine? Nicely say "oh, you haven't cared about Christmas in years, so I figure you did't want the gifts....Merry Christmas to me!"
P.S. I saw your Grandma's pic. in the paper, I'm really sorry for your loss. Remember, she lived a good, long life and she loved you !
