I certainly hope him pleading guilty doresn't lower his sentence. I hope the other family that will be there if you and your mom can't gets to tell why he should have the maximum sentence. Hugs to you and your family. I've never lost someone in a violent way so I can't even image what you are going throuigh. :hug Thanks for updating us.
My parents won't be able to go to California.
Yesterday my mom had to call and give a recorded deposition.
Here it is 5 1/2 months later, and the parents of the kid FINALLY relayed a message to my mother (and the other woman's daughter) of how sorry they are, that this has happened. (and of course how upset and traumatized ''they'' are!).
Seriously?? It took almost 6 months to say 'you're sorry?!!'
It means absolutely NOTHING now. (Not that it would have meant anything a day or two after the accident).
Anyhow, the DA is going for the MAXIMUM ADULT sentencing! (yeah!), and he'll also be forced to take anger management classes, and go to AA meetings. (Not sure what happened that he has to take anger management classes...perhaps he's not getting along with others in jail?)
C'mon Friday April 13th!!
Anyone have any black cats I can send to the courthouse?:lol
:stir:stir
They were prob told by their lawyers NOT to contacta anyone connected to the families.Quote:

which would explain why their child is in the situation he is in now ...Quote:

Sending prayers for you guys to get through this week! Wish I could give you a hug through the computer.
Sentencing is tomorrow (Friday) at 9am. (California time).
Here's what his lawyer wants...........
1 year jail time. (YES, that's a ONE)
6 weeks community service
Restitution
(There's something else too, but for the life of me I can't remember wth it is! I'll update it tomorrow when I ask my mom)
Isn't that DISGUSTING though?? Killing TWO women, and only requesting he go to jail for a lousy freaking year!!!! That's 6 months for each woman.
I just hope and pray the judge throws the book at him.
I'M SO MAD I COULD SPIT NAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!:getyou:getyou
He got the so-called ''MAXIMUM'' sentence.............a whopping 3 years in jail!!!
BIG F'ING DEAL!!!
Apparently it's ok in the state of California to be drunk, underage, drinking, driving, on drugs, run a red light..............AND KILL 2 WOMEN!!!!
He got 3 yrs.......then 2 yrs probation after that. He'll be in juv. hall until Feb of 2013, then they'll decide whether or not he stays there or goes to prison to finish his sentence.
He can't work while in Juv. hall, so all the money we (and the other family) shelled out for all of this, doesn't get paid back to us until he can work......in prison......in 2014!!!
After it was over, he spoke to the judge, then to his family, then spoke to the other womans family. He apologized to the daughter for what he did, and said he promised to change his life around so this never happens again.
To bad he didn't think of that BEFORE getting behind the wheel drunk!!!!
Sounds like we need to petion for harsher sentences. At least he got the max the judge could issue ... I am sorry with you that it was treated so lightly.
WOW! Doesn't seem like enough at all. He shhould be on some type of probation for the rest of his life. That is what they should do to everyone that commits any crime, make them be responsible for the rest of their lives so they don't ever forget. I hope he does eventually see the inside of the prison, juvenile hall is not going to teach him anything.
Hang in there!
