I am a former telemarketer, don't flame me it was a job, it is how I paid my bills and put food in my stomach. Remember not all telemarketers are scum and they, like you, are trying to feed their children. In any 8 hour shift I have been cussed at, one guy even threatened to track me down and kill me. Here is a hint, if you really want to get off the calling list for good, BE NICE. If someone was rude with me I would hang up before they could tell me that they were not on the DO NO CALL list just so they would get their rude rear end nice. Here is a script to be sure you will be removed. "Thank you very much for calling, I am not interested can you please remove me off your calling list? I am on the do not call registry." We are all human and I have to admit even I get tired of telemarketers even though I was one.

You should NEVER have to tell them you are on the DNC list. That is why they have a list so that telemarketers that follow the laws do not call those people. I know how phone rooms work you are given a strip of paper with numbers and you just go from one to the next with no regard for the law. Sorry but making excuses for breaking the law just doesn't work. I will be as rude and nasty to criminals as I want to it is my phone and I pay that bill. They are criminals if they are breaking the law in this country. Sorry if I hurt your feelings but no one should have to put up with phone solicitors if they followed the law and are registered on the DNC list.

In order to report them you need some information which is what I was trying to do so that I could report them.

well, I just filled out that form 4 times right now. (I'm sure nothing will come of it though)

I listed the 4 different numbers received the past 2 weeks, checking they were recorded message calls and basically what the message said.

I HAVE been nice when I get connected to the live person, but I never get the chance to finish my sentence and get hung up on.

You seem to think that telemarketers have any control of who they call, in truth it is an automated dialer, you just wait for it to be connected in 99% of all call centers. The people they work for are the ones who buy the leads, not the telemarketer.Like I said, in 99% of all call centers it is no longer where YOU dial it. That is why when you are connected to a live person there is usually a delay, the first available person picks it up

I was a telemarketer once too... I sold photo packages for olan mills (I quit that one when I got a gentleman on the phone who started bawling when I suggested he and his wife -- who had just died -- might like to take a set of pictures for their kids... I felt horrible, I cried and cried and then walked out) and then I got leads for interested ppl for a company that sold the leads to insurance agents. We were not auto dialers then, we were given phone books and told to pick a letter and start calling. It was absolutely the worst job in the world. Except for the man whose wife had died, the picture selling was ok, ppl were generally pretty nice... but boy, you try to sell them insurance and they jump down your throat like there aint no tomorrow... I HATED that job... I can't tell you how many days I went home crying and so stressed out I could barely function. You all think by being rude you are proving a point... but you aren't... it is true that they are now auto dialed (why do you think you get a recorded msg telling you to hold the line for the next available agent) and the person has absolutely no control over who was called. They are performing a very stressful job that I can guarantee you they hate just as much as you hate them. I'm not suggesting you should like getting the calls... but being rude to someone who had no control over your number being called is just silly... if you can't bring yourself to be nice then just hang up... or one of my favorite techniques they used was just holding down a key on the number pad. Atleast I wasn't getting cussed out and told I was the scum of the earth.

I'm sure the job is stressful and people take whatever jobs they can get, but can't they at least be curteous and not hang up on me when I ask not to be called again?

I think most unwanted calls are scams
Not all but a good amount of them are
Think about the recorded call from a credit card company
    With no name.
There are others to many to name
DONT FORGET WHERE EVER YOU ARE YOUR THERE.
    OR ARE YOU?

Just got one of them calls............
I pressed '1' and when I was connected, there was so much noise (like they were having a party); finally after about 20 sec a lady asked if I was responding the credit rate offer. I said 'yes' and asked her which credit company she was with. "CLICK"
maybe I should have waited (after I said yes) to see what she would say.

I did call the number back; got something like this:
'thank you for calling back, if you no longer want this type of call and to be put on a do not call list, press '1' now.' I pressed '1' and she said thank you.''

Ya right; I will be getting more calls.
Going to report this one right now
