WOW! That is way to much to repair. Wouldn't a new system been cheaper?

Ok, I don't know what we bought I guess... I just know they replaced the fan and motor inside and then we got a whole new unit outside... does that make the heat as well as the cold? I really didn't care what it cost... all I knew was that it was more than 100 outside and well over 90 in my house ... I was miserable beyond belief... I even made hubby fork out money for a hotel last night cause there was no way I was staying here in that heat!

Oh heat is never a bad thing however in your situation with your Mom a/c is vital.

Well I work for an A/C contractor on the side and I just had mine replaced and trust me I got a huge discount and it was still over $ 2500.00 but I did get a heat pump with a very high efficiency rating. But the other choice of not having A/C was not a option for me.

We are getting bids for aiir with heat and a high eer rating. I just didnt think it would be so much. I really need it for my Mom because her brain cancer is near her hypothamus and her body regualtion is off as a result so air could help her immensely.

The seer rating we got was 13... I didn't realize that was the minimum, but for 4 grand, hubby wasn't gonna spend more.... I just woke up though and it is again 85 degrees in my house... he says they didn't install a kick start... whatever that means, I don't really care as long as they get out here and fix it... I really hate being hot like this... but atleast hubby and I were blessed w/ the means to fix it.
