I have zero issue with helping anyone in need. It is the compasionate & right thing to do. My issue comes in with the government having anything to do with insurance especially health care. That is my personal view. I woild be fine with Obama Care if someone would be able to explain just how this program is going to be funded. Let's face it...this country is broke!
hbblueeyes. I am sorry you are having these struggles with your Mom. I get it, trust me...mine is 86 going on 6. Have you tried looking into doing a reverse mortgage for your Mom. I just finished up doing this for my Mom. Now we are both free of any financial worries.

I know this is an older thread,but I don't make it here much...
anyhoo What the bigger issue is this year is Obama STUPID new law with everyone having to have insurance. We are now paying the higher premuims because of it. Ours went up ALOT!! My dh got a pay raise and more than half of it went to INS! How stupid is that.
My "adopted" brother. Gone but not forgotten. 8/23/09

If they told you the insurance went up because of Obama-care they lied. The mandated insurance doesn't go in for a couple of years (2014). The reason premiums went up is the usage of the insurance by members in your group.
As for the requirement of everyone to have insurance - here is a interesting thing about it. If you do not need insurance you would be better off NOT getting insurance and paying the fine. If you need insurance at a later date you will be able to get insurance since all preexisting conditions would be covered. I wish that I didn't need insurance but I do so I can't get off paying the fine & getting insurance when I actually needed it.
