Trusted someone and got screwed
I just got a new job not even a week and a half ago, last night after a courier made a delivery the cash she collected was $26 short, she told me she was going to run to get the change to make up the amount and asked for her pay check. Stupidly, I handed it to her, and you guessed it, she never came back. Fastforward to today, I have been chewed out left and right and written up, despite the fact I wrote a note to my boss offering to eat the loss of the $26 due to my stupidity, I did not try to hide it or "cook the books" $26 is 4 hours for me, that was 10 minutes to the girl who delivered the package, I called and left a message I would not be dispatching anymore until the amount was paid in full and my boss went over my head and put her back making delivery, leaving me out the $. Meanwhile, I dont know how I am going to be able to get groceries, because I work I am not qualified for any aide, so I am screwed all around. What really sucks is this a BIG deal because I have only had the job for a week and a half and I have already gotten written up in my perm file. I forgot to ask, the courier never got written it or admonished!
Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching

Most definitely watch your back when it comes to money at work. I don't even trust the bank we work with! I know jobs are hard to come by right now and it may just be me being paranoid, but something smells fishy.
Do you see the courier? I would be the biggest b|tch ever until she returned the money.

This may seem cold but TRUST NO ONE when it comes to money. Sorry you got screwed by her but I am sure you learned a lesson and it will never happen to you again.
