Emergency at the manor!!!! Sandy that is priceless! I call her's "Looney Tune Home" . She won't use her dishwasher because it uses too much water. She takes 1 shower a week & is now insisting that my son only take 2 a week. I pay her freaking water bill which is less that the water bill at the office & we have only 1 toilet that is not open to the public. The faucet is getting done tomorrow. I only wish I had the sibling help like you do.
I didn't think dogs were allowed in stores unless they were service dogs. I love my cats but there is no way in heck they are going in my purse.Quote:

I reside in NC & it is not against the law to let "someone" ride in the truck bed. A child 12 yrs old & up can ride in the back of a tuck bed as long as the tailgate is closed.Quote:

If you think about it, the harness is actually not cruel at all. I have used them, not in stores, but while walking in other places. Think about walking with your arm up in the air for 10 or 15 minutes. Your arm becomes painful as the blood drains from it. While taking walks with my grandchildren on the long driveway by the pond and the ducks, I always used a harness. They could squat and pick up rocks and what ever they wanted to look at and I wasn't having to say no come back, don't do that etc. I think they are wonderful. The child has so much freedom but they can be kept out of danger. It isn't cruel. My grandson would go get his harness and bring it to me to go outside.
I guess nobody has taken a very active 2 and a half year old out in public.My son doesnt like to be held very much and will only briefly hold your hand before he takes off running.He will ride in his stroller but that doesnt last long.Depending on where Im going I will use a harness.I would rather use a harness then have my son run off,run into traffic or have some child molester kidnap him.Its my job as his mommy to do what I have to do to keep him safe.
I began using a harness on my daughter after she disappeared at a craft fair in St. Charles, MO when she was 4 years old. Luckily, we found her after about the longest 5 minutes I have ever experienced. My then boyfriend (now dh) and I were there with his ds and bil, and each of us thought she was with the other. She had stayed in a booth to look at something. We went that day and bought the harness. I used it for about 2 years when we went to crowded places. As a mother who knows what it is like to have a child go missing, even for only a few minutes, I know that using a harness on a child is much better than losing your child. Also, you don't have the child's hand constantly up in the air.
Better on a leash than a milk carton.
