Alzheimer's is a disease of the brain with no test for a conclusion before you die. Yet CTE, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy is similar to Alzheimer's but is found in those who are younger. There are no tests to determine CTE until death when they can test for a protein marker. I believe my hubby has CTE due to his history. He has neurological problems, in constant pain, his muscles are atrophying and yet he does not qualify for disability. Yet if you have a lisp, you qualify.

I so agree the laws on who can get disability are messed up. Prayers and hugs for both of you. I'm so sorry to hear that his condition is deteriorating.

I cannot believe that your DH does not qualify. They really need to revise who qualifies for disability.

I am legally blind - have not driven a car in 15 years... do not qualify. I lisp... maybe I should re apply

Just got a call from the VA home where my deceased Mom husband has been for the last 7 years. Mom passed 2 years ago. She did not report all her /their money and they found out and want $90K in repayment. R u kidding me? Way to go Mom. You still managed to screw me even after your dead. Doing it my whole life while you were alive wasn't enough.
