They sent notices. But my car insurance was in effect until the 23rd of this month and my home policy ended July9. I told them I wanted to shop around for a better, cheaper policy. They wanted me to renew 3 months early. That was not gonna happen. I have my policies scattered for a reason. I do not want to be bombarded with a hefty insurance bill all at one time.

They made us get 20,000 more on our home policy than what we paid for the house... this was a requirement from every insurance company we talked to... they said it was because a homes worth goes up every year and you'd need more than what you paid for it to rebuild. I don't know if this was bs, I'm sure it is... but they ALL required it so we couldn't get around it.

Right now we're paying almost twice the amount in coiverage that we paid for our house. I can't believe it'll cost twice what we paid for our house to rebuild it.

The cost to replace your home is not based on what you paid for it - it is based on replacing the house you have at current costs. Imagine if your house burnt down and the insurance company had not kept up with the increased coverage and it cost you that extra amount to replace the house. Not many people have that money laying around or would want a new mortgage because the insurance was not sufficient to rebuild.

Hey now Facebook can have it's own venting section. About the time you figure where everything is they move it just to drive you nuts. lol

I am ready for the kids to be back in school. Bickering and fighting ... too hot to go outside and do anything - to broke to go find "indoor activites" with them... movies - mall - museums - all those kinds of things cost money. The library is free - but they keep talking in there too ... shopping just gets on my nerves cause they all "want" everything their friends have. Matt is sulking now because he found something he needs online ... great sale ... but I don't have a credit card to buy it for him.

I had a pleasant weekend in the beautiful, tranquil, but somewhat isolated woodsy area in SE Ohio...and when I finally get back to my computer, I see that FB has once again changed the layout of my home page/newsfeed, and Gmail has created three different tabs to help me (!) sort my mail. Gah....
