Why is it people think they can drive normal on ice? We just had freezing rain and cars are flying down the road like nothing is on them, just saw a car fish tail and loose control and ended up nose first in a snow bank. State police came along just after it happened and is there. The person was lucky he didn't hit another car or telephone pole.

Have to agree, Eyore - I'm not looking forward to the next few days with temps in the 30s. Today we had rain, and I'm guessing we'll have ice that will be overlooked by careless drivers. Next week's subfreezing temperatures are not going to help either. Argh...

:SIGH: Long day at work.... ask child to watch supper and stir pot while I take a quick shower. Mistake Number One : failed to get eye contact and confirmation before leaving room. Mistake Number Two : failed to check setting on stove before leaving room. Exit shower to a billowing cloud of SMOKE. Dinner burned. Pot ruined. Child on computer doing homework responds "HUH?" Letter I wrote to a large chain store :

I was in your store this evening... I would like to make a complaint about one of the employees. I tried to speak to a manager, but as it was about 15 minutes to closing they were unavailable due to "counting down". My complaint is one of your male employees was wearing an article of clothing that was TOTALLY inappropriate in a public place. The purple tshirt is fine - black jeans - no problems ... but the back pocket of the jeans featured nude women in very graphic nude bondage positions. Since the pockets themselves were white on the black jeans they really stood out. Since he walked past me several times - once almost as if posing - I couldn't help but notice.... My son who was with me is the one who pointed out the graphics ... asking me what was the lady doing ... and where are her clothes? This wasn't "art" ... it was flat out bondage porn. I pointed it out to another employee... who couldn't call the manager. I really love shopping at your store... please ask your employees to be aware of what they are wearing.

Who did you write your letter to? Was it an email to ''customer service?" If so, I think you should call the store directly, and ask who the district manager is, and complain to him/her. I would also make a complaint at store level.

Emailing or calling customer service usually only connects you to someone in India or Pakistan.

PROBLEM : I have a family member who is openly, proudly gay. "Not that there is anything wrong with that..." I love her - she is smart, funny, beautiful... but we have one little issue and I do not know how to handle it. I am a Scout leader - I work with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Venture Scouts. I am proud of the uniforms we were and all they represent.




She has - and for several years - chosen to wear a blue Cub Scout uniform ... with insignia ... as a form of "protest" because the BSA policy. I have asked her not too... more or less in passing because I was asked by family members not to "make a big deal" about it. I object mainly because as a symbol it is kinda of stupid and ... she is not a little boy age 7 to 11. She still does so ... and will post pictures of herself on my FB page in this shirt ... at the beach with friends, at a concert... usually the only times she directly posts on my timeline. She is 26 and I am not sure how to address it ... she isn't a "kid" but this is hardly mature.

If she is posting on your fb page you can make it so that it has to be approved before it will show up. If she is just posting stuff and it is showing up on your newsfeed you might want to hover your mouse over her name and "unfollow" her so that her posts don't automatically show up on your feed. Other than that a good slap up side the head might be in order. She is obviously not taking subtle hints and feels that she is more important than anyone else or their feelings.

You know you are a Scouter ... when one of the things that bothers you about the above "fashion" ... is not only is the person wearing it NOT a boy age 7 to 11 ... but all the patches are put on WRONG.

Am I suppose to believe that the blonde woman is mother to that geeky, 20-something guy with the glasses, mother to the girl who speaks Swedish, daughter of the black guy who looks like Don King, and wife to the HAMPSTER rolling around in the ball??

And WTH is up with ''Gore-Don?" WTH is that??

The whole thing is just stupid and creepy!
