Question Not really a V&W but a woman problem. Run men, run!!!

    Hi,
I was hoping to get some advice about periods.(I know, gross, sorry).
I have been having regular ones since I was 13(besides being pregnant, ya know).
Well I haven't had one in the past 2 months.
    I will be 45 tomorrow.
I have no signs of menopause(no hot flashes ect.)
Had my yearly check up 2 months ago, and it went a okay.
Im 110% sure Im NOT pregnant.
    Sooooooooo.

Do I wait for a few more months and see if anything happens?
Do I call the Dr now?

As much as I hate "them" Im going to miss them.
I will feel so old when they stop.
Do you know what I mean?

    Thanks for any advice!
    xoxo

I think it's time for you to see a doc. Menopause isn't the only reason you could be going w/o periods. I haven't had a period since 1989 and I am 65 1/2 and have yet to feel old!

It's most likely that you are perimenopausal. That is the 5 to 10 years prior to menopause actually happening. Periods will be irregular and sporatic. You may or may not experience the symptoms of menopause, eg, hot flashes. Your hormone levels may test lower.

For me...I experienced clinical depression when I was perimenopausal. I would also check with my doctor. They can run blood work to determine if it is tied to menopause or something else.

I didn't miss my periods one bit!!!
Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.

I was so glad when mine were gone, didn't miss 'em one bit.

And yes, there are too many things that can cause a missed period, go tot the doc.

Yes, see a doc, but before Aunt Flo stopped visiting me, I would go a couple of months without her coming to call. The last time that beatch came was April 2009, and boy was I glad to see her go!

I agree with Kelsey, it is probably perimenopause. I had a hystrectomy when I was 41 so I went instant menopause. I am now in my 50's & boy am I going through hot flashes, blonde moments & mood swings. There is nothing I can do about it since I have had breast cancer.
Yes it is time to call a GYN if you don't go on an annual basis.

Have you seen those shows, "I didn't know I was pregnant"? LOL If you go to the doc you will know----well maybe not---some even had the doc say they weren't pregnant at the beginning of their pregnancy.

    It's probably perimenopause though.

Baragabrat, you are so lucky and I am happy for you. I am 66 and I feel so old. I ache and hurt everyday. I think how old you feel depends on your health more than your years. I hope you remain "young" for a long time. My 83 yr old neighbor still works a shift or 2 a week as an RN on the night shift in a nursing home where she has a whole floor of patients, 46 patients. I think she is amazing. She walks on a treadmill for an hour a day at the senior center. I have trouble walking and walk with a walker. Life isn't fair but I am happy to be here. I love my neighbor, she is 4 ft 10 inches tall and weighs 92 lbs. LOL cute as she can be.
