We've had DirecTV forever. Thay are pricey but worth it to us. We had Dish at our guest house and they are the devil. They lie, cheat and steal and their service sucks. I cannot say enough bad things about them.

I can't get DirectTV. Apparently my apartment is facing the wrong way. Wish I could. My local provider is really benefiting from having a monopoly.

I called Direct TV and asked how much it would cost to get off it. It is $20 a month left on the contract so $240. She did add free channels for 3 months and reduce our bill to $69 a month. And she said a free service call every year comes with the contract. The guy came out and connected every DVD player up to the tv like it was on the cable before Direct TV. Evidently they are supposed to do that when they install Direct TV. Also the guy called the office while he was here and told them not to call this a service call because he couldn't do everything he was supposed to do. So I can call them back out when I get the original controller to the tv. Who keeps up with those. After we got the direct tv controller , I don't know where the original one went. I still don't like Direct tv but I am happier than I was.
