I got a $50.00 check

I won $50.00!Too bad the check is made out to my first name,my address,the last name doesn't even resemble mine.fml I am flat broke with a check I can't even cash.

That stinks! Can you contact them and hopefully get a check made out right? I'm sorry that happened to you.

I sent an email to Nestle(the owners of butterfinger)and got this generic response:

just try to "scribble" the last name, i dont really think they care! congrats on some extra cash!!

I actually thought of something similar.When my kids have got checks from kidseyes/teenseyes I just have them sign it then I do and just deposit it.So far there have been no problems,but they have the same last name and it was really their check.In this case I don't even know if actually won or if "my first name"________ is the actual winner.I do not want to deal with a charge of fraud.

Go inside to your bank that you do business with and show it to them and see what they say. Maybe they will since they might know you and have checking etc.. with them, if you do have a bank... ??!!!!

It took a couple of weeks for them to get back to me.Supposedly they are canceling that check and sending me another.I'm a little excited(I haven't won anything in a long time)and a little afraid to get my hopes up.They said 2-3 weeks,so hopefully I have something to look forward to.
