Or try craigslist, freecycle, church, volunteer emergency organizations, etc. Sometime people donate these things after they no longer need them.
Mrs Pepperpot is a lady who always copes with the tricky situations that she finds herself in....

Well I found out what it is. I thought medicare was paying everything on The oxygen tanks since the medical supply store wasn't billing us anything. Well apparently they realized their mistake and billed us for six months of oxygen tanks at one time which is $277. I asked her why they didn't bill us each monh and she said she didn't know but that they would from now on. Man that makes it hard to come up with that much at one time. We've already paid over $450 this month in medical bills.

That stinks -- I don't know what your circumstances are, but there are places for help if you need it like www.modestneeds.org

    What is Modest Needs?
Modest Needs is a non-profit organization reaching out to hard-
working individuals and families who suddenly find themselves faced
with small, emergency expenses that they have no way to afford on
    their own.

Most persons living paycheck to paycheck earn just barely too much
to qualify for any type of conventional assistance. This means they
can't receive the help they need to overcome a short-term crisis -
    until they've already lost everything.

Modest Needs exists because we think there's a better way to do
things. As far as we're concerned, no hard-working person should
ever have to choose between taking a child to the doctor and putting
    food on the table.

    How Modest Needs Works
At Modest Needs, compassionate persons whose lives have been touched
by kindness pass that kindness on to hard-working individuals and
families struggling with the burden of an unexpected emergency
    expense.

We do this by helping these persons to afford small, emergency
expenses like those we've all encountered before: the unexpected car
repair, the unanticipated visit to the doctor, the unusually large
    winter heating bill.

Operating this way since 2002, Modest Needs' donors - regular people
just like you - have kept 2567 individuals and families from
entering the cycle of poverty over a small, emergency expense. And
in keeping with our philosophy, we never ask for anything in return.
