Thread: Just a Vent ..

It has been a hard cold Christmas for me this year. The weekend after Thanksgiving, a child we knew was reported "missing" - but because he was 15 the police would not formally take the report figuring he would turn up the next morning. Red flags were up for us because this was a child who was rather skittish about the dark. I have known him almost his entire life, I went to school with his aunt, and knew his grandmother most of my life.

Monday afternoon, after we finally got the police to FILE the "Missing Persons" report, Ms D got a visitor. Someone came to her home to tell her a body had been found at a nearby park and they thought it was Tyler's. They took her to the scene, and it was only after seeing that it was in fact Tyler that the police were called.

The coroner arrived, glanced at the body and ruled it "self inflicted". News reports were calling it "Russian Roulete". No autopsy was ordered. After a few days, Ms D recieved photographs in the mail, clearly taken before she - or the police - arrived. She has since turned the photos over to the investigators. The funeral home filed a grievance against the coroners office because as they prepared the body it became appearent that Tyler had been beaten before being shot. He was shot in the back of the head - behind the left ear... difficult to do if one is RIGHT HANDED as Tyler was.

I have known this child for years - he was a memebr of my church youth group, he was my aide for PSR, he was a memeber of my Cub Scouts and my Boy Scouts. This was a child who was a little afraid of the dark and didn't like the shooting sports offered at camp because, even with head gear, he said the noise from the guns hurt his ears. I have nightmares - I can barely let my kids out of my sight.

It is terible, Who sent his grandma the pictures of him. Was it whoever did this to him? I'm really sorry for your loss also. An d I hope they catch who dit this. Poor kid.

This entire situation is horrific. My heart goes out to his family and every one who knew him, including you, Jolie. There seems to be something 'sinister' about all the events surrounding his death. Besides his untimely death, something just doesn't seem right about this.

His late grandfather was a Sherrif deputy, we have friends in the Sherrif's dept, City Police and other agencies who will not let this be shunted aside. The coroner "saw" a black kid in a bad neighborhood and thought he could just unload it. We are NOT going to let this happen. It is gang related, I am sure. The "abandoned buuilding" was covered inside and out with gang signs, people living nearby reported multiple gun shots Sunday afternoon... rather inconsistent with "Russian roulette". It was reopened as a homicide and we are not going to let it slide into "cold cases".

What kind of person finds a dead body and goes to a family memeber rather then 911 ? And the photos ?? There was a message there... no doubt.

Jolie, I am so so sorry. My prayers are with you and this young man's family. I hope they catch the dirt bags who did this and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

How awful! I can only imagine what his family is going through. Prayers to the family.
