With 1 in 3 Americans being Obese, I think they need to make food stamps, like they do WIC, ie: This stamp is for a gallon of Milk, this stamp is for a pound of apples, this stamp is for 64ozs of orange juice., etc...
This would solve a lot of problems! But then everyone would just b*tch that the line was moving too slow or something else...

our governor elect wants to drug test welfare people and make them do community service - people are screaming how unfair it is - really? to get a paid job you need to pass a drug test and actually work, why shouldn't they?

A person can file without a w-2 form as long as they paid in taxes.
I have yet to meet a "lazy" Hispanic. They will work their butts off and not complain about a thing. On the other hand, Caucasian's & African American people whine because they have a job. Figure that one out.
Don't worry about what people think. They don't do it very often.

I know alot of hispanics that I couldn't tell you if they were legal or not. I have never felt that it was my place to ask for documents, so how would I know. I have met people from many backgrounds and nationalities that I could go either way on wanting as a neighbor. As it is now, I love the ones I have. A hispanic family directly behind me who has the occasional loud party, and the divorced black woman who works 2 full time jobs with the 23 year old son who works when someone will hire him. He is epileptic and a father of a 2 year old. Her son does not have a rosy past, and he looks hood. But it is all surface. They get about 230 $ a month in foodstamps. Do I care what they buy with it? No. I also have a relative that works every day, who's spouse is disabled from a wreck he had while drinking. He has had several, but has always gotten lucky as far as keeping his liscense. Jobs werent so easily kept. He still drives, still drinks, and is addicted to pain meds. They have 3 New cars, and every new gadget you could think of. He nevery had anything for retirement, put his wife through bankruptcy twice. And has been diagnosed with a brain disorder from all the meth and cocain he has used over the years. He is a white, bigot, piece of crap that works the system more than anyone I know, and our tax dollars support him and his habit daily. I could realy care less about people buying soda with foodstamps.

excuse me! i am an African American woman, and an exception to what you have said. every job i had when i could and did go to work, I LOVED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. cause it meant i would get a paycheck to pay my bills and buy any thing i wanted. going to work for me meant i had the freedom to pick and choose what i wanted my life to be and how i wanted to live. now i am disabled and on s.s.i., and i get food stamps and i stretch them as far as they will go. every day i wish i could go back to work, i still pick and choose how and what i want my life to be, but i would rather be able to go to work.

You shouldn't do such a broad generalization there Bliss. There are lazy people in all races. I do not complain about having a job or the kind of job I have. I am thankful to God that I have a job and tell Him that every night. I have had all types of jobs, nasty jobs, cozy jobs, hard jobs, easy jobs...a job is a job and I will work at almost anything to provide.
