Dealing with chronic urinary track infections ....now diagnosed with maybe diagnosis of cysitis

I am having issues with my UTI. After 17 days of antibiodics my UTI cleaned up only to come back with a vengence. I am seriously worried, my second time giving a urine sample they found nothing until they did a culture. This time I am going to have to bite the bullet and go to a urologist, which is a which because I have no health insurance. I tried to go to a low income clinic and the next appt they have is late Jan, so I am having to pay out of pocket

I feel your pain. I really hope they figure it out for you so you can get relief. Don't forget about the cranberry pills they might not help with this one but they'll prevent others from happening. They're supposed to promote a healthy urinary tract. They've really worked for me. I'll swear by them.

I also have reoccurring uti's - stopped taking baths a long time ago, but it just keeps coming back. When I start to feel a little off, I eat yogurt, and take the cranberry pills. they seem to really help.

I feel your pain! I am starting one right now. I can't wait until I get home to take my antibiotics. Azzo & Tylenol isn't cutting it!

Hope you get some answers soon.

You said they did find something with the culture, that is good. To have continuous urinary infections without finding anything on a culture can be interstitual cystitus and you don't want that. Go to a urologist before it gets into your kidneys. It will be worth the money spent. And yeppers I do know what it's like to be medically broke. My remicade is every 6 weeks and I need my teeth fixed.

A definite diagnoses requires a biopsy of your bladder, but a dr can be pretty sure by your other symptoms.

I used to have UTI's all the time. I did some research and found an article on Sweet Acidophilus milk. I started drinking it all the time and I haven't had an infection since. You can also get the pill form of it. I used to drink cranberry juice until I thought I was going to turn into one. I never liked the juice so I was very happy when I discovered the acidophilus milk. I haven't drank any cranberry juice since. Also, when I had to take antibiotics I always ended up getting a yeast infection, but not anymore due to the milk. My doctor said everyone should drink it expecially females. Here is an article that tells all the things that Sweet Acidophilus is good for. There are a lot health benefits from it. http://www.buzzle.com/articles/lacto...idophilus.html

I get them sometimes. I have had docs who called out the meds for me when I called in and told them what my symptoms were. My current doc wants me to come in and have a lab done. That is such a hassle. I have had them enough times, I know what they are. I think she just wants the money for my office visit. I have taken cranberry pills to try to stop them when I felt them coming on, sometimes it works and sometimes not.
