Ok, who pays the parkiking ticket??????
i took a friend of ours to Dept. Soc. Ser., while was there, over three hours, we are finally done. we get to my car and there is a parking ticket on it. I give him the tikect and tell him it's his to pay not mine. He tells me that he can't afford to pay for the ticket. I told him when I had brough my daughter, to the same place she had to take care of business and I had gottn a ticket with her and she paid for it. I come home and tell dh about what happened and he says, well you know he can't afford to pay for that ticket cause he has no money, so you'll have to pay for it. I say BIG BS, cause i still pay him $150.00 every month for my car until it is paid off. I got my 1999 Grand Am from the friend that is sometimes also mine, until stuff like this hits the fan. And dh is always taking his side in everything against me. I would love your thoughts on the matter. Thanks, in advance.

I think you should split the cost of the ticket. What were you ticketed for?
Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids.

You should have went down and put more money in the meter. It is your car therefore your ticket. It doesn't matter why you were there you will be the one that won't be able to renew your license plate not him. So suck it up and pay the ticket. If he offered to pay the ticket that would be very nice but you should have fed the meter since you were the one parking there. In the future let your family and friends put more money in the meter or take the bus.

You already got one ticket for what sounds like the same thing. I'd say you have to pay for the ticket.
You chose the spot to park in, be it a meter or parking garage.....so it's your responsibility to make sure it's paid for. You could have run back out to the meter and put money in it while your friend was taking care of business.

I kept feedding the meter, the whole time we were there. he don't want to pay even half of the parking ticket. i took him there so they could pay his rent to keep him from being out in the street. besides, i just paid $155.00 ticket of my own today. it took me two months of saving to get that together. if i end up eating this ticket the next time he is in a jam i will not help him. and to think i saved his life when he had a heart attack in my house five years ago. people always screw you anyway but loose, if you let them.

Tell you what, if I was in a bind and had a "friend" with an attitude such as yours, I would lose the "friend." Considering that you had already gotten a ticket and it cost you so much, you should have either been MORE diligent or left and gone back to pick him up. You knew he didn't have the money for it, yet you still gripe. If I were to owe someone for the rest of my life for helping me...then please don't help me because I don't have a need for a 'conditional' friendship....or whatever your relationship is with him...can't be friendship...

He could at least pay half. Even if it takes a while. Thats the nice thing to do but I don't know too many nice people when it comes to money situations.

So he's letting you buy his car for $150.00 per month? Your car used to be his and you are paying it off? Do I understand that correctly?
If you received a ticket there prior, you should have known better and that it's a "hot spot"......you, at this point, were negligent. If, for some reason, he demanded that you had to stay with him and wouldn't pay for a garage...then possibly, I could understand. But, put your big girl panties on and be a responsible car owner.
If you kept running to the meter, what was the ticket for????? Over due registration or inspection?????

Excuse me, but I don't do conditional friendships, him and i don't get along well, but i would never want him to lose his apartment, cause i have been homeless in the winter time. and if you knew his money situation like i do then you wouldn't flap your lips at me like that. i came here asking for advice, not to be insulated. by the way the ticket with my daughter was $25.00. i don't have $65.00 to put out for that ticket, he asked me to come in with him to help him out, cause other wise i would have been sitting in my car playing Yahtzee. i would help anyone if i could if it was something i could do for them.

the ticket i got with him today is $65.00. in New York state the surcharge for any kind of ticket is very high. the surcharge on that ticket is $40.00, the fine is only $25.00. He already owned the car and i am paying him car payments every month. even if i go to cityhall and ask them to take off the surcharge and the ticket would only be $25.00, he still don't want to pay half of that i am always a responsible person, cause that is what my parents taught me to be.
