XANAX is a miracle drug. I ended up phoning Christmas in this year. I had the flu & my sister is scheduuled for surgery on Monday so I didn't want to risk her getting sick. Her grandson who she babysits daily also has it but I would be the one blamed.
Then my niece-in-law had a hissy fit b/c she bought all of this food & no one was there. Key word there was she "BOUGHT" all of the food. Nothing was homemade.
The only ones missing were me & my Mom. She didn't want to go b/c it was supposed to be icy & she is 85 and afraid she would fall.
My ds went & he said the food was so bad he didn't bother asking to bring anything for me b/c she probably would have had a cow if he did.
All I wanted for dinner was Nyquil anyway. She threw all the leftovers in the trash.
Christmas dinner was served on paper plated & plastic utensils. Mind you there weren't even 10 people there so no need to bring our the good Hefty plates! *LOL*
Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids.

Sounds like our family Christmas parties. My one Uncle on my mom's side has burned a ton of ties with family members over the years to the point that nobody wants to show up for family parties anymore. This year was no different. He was all butt hurt and felt "unappreciated" as he put it that everyone had plans for the holiday and couldn't make it. Well, my mom had a small party with just her kids and she did invite him to be nice and that was a big mistake he was drunk and got mad at me and my 16 yr old niece cuz we were doing our usual family party sit in the corner and let everyone else talk and me and her talk with each other.
She has nobody even close to her in age so me and her have always got along and we always talk at family parties. But this year my drunk uncle decided it was rude of us to sit there and talk. He thought me and her were talking bad about him. So ya it started a lot of drama in our house...
But Christmas morning was wonderful and I couldn't have asked for better just me and my son doing our thing together alone.
