    Just whining

I swear that I am so close to losing my mind that I am about to ---I have no idea what.

Last Tuesday was minor....but my oldest son fell as he was getting out of the van at his brothers birthday dinner. Not a biggie, but still not pleasant.

Wednesday--The boys had been taking guitar lessons for over a year from someone who was very good at teaching music, but apparently pretty lousy at math. For the third time, told them they owed him more money for lessons the month before. He and I both made mistakes. He never gave receipts, and I paid in cash sometimes. He claimed that since he never wrote it down, they never paid. If it had been the first time, fine....but it was the 3rd time. One other time, I paid him again, another time, I tried to explain the simple addition and subtraction, he was impossible to explain to, so he went home with $5 extra, I guess his wife explained it to him, and then he brought it back the next week. 3rd time, I couldnt take it any more. Paid him what he SAID was owed extra, last weeks lesson and had the boys lessons quit.

Thursday---My youngest son got his first "real" girlfriend---who thinks its perfectly okay to call the house at 11 pm just to chat, since she didnt have to go to school the next day---she had chipped her ankle and was getting a walking cast on. Irregardless, my son was still supposed to go to school the next day.

Friday---My dad bought me a van to replace the one I had. I still owe $11,000 on the one I have. I lost my job in March of last year and have been unable to start working again. I need to let the van I have go back. So my dad bought me one for a fraction of the cost. Looked PERFECT. Same style as I have, just 5 years older. Well----I live 3 hours from my dad. I made it about 1 hour from my dads house before the water pump went out and the motor blew.

    Saturday---a fairly normal day.

Sunday---Husband took me out for our anniversary which was last week....I locked the keys in the van we had.

Monday---picked up a certified letter, which was a court summons for a bill we have always admitted we owed, but because of the job loss have been unable to pay off. We are being sued for not the $800 we owe, but $3000. Was given a quote of almost $4,000 to fix the van I just bought.

Tuesday---found someone who has a motor that will work and will fix the van for $1,000. But I have to go back to my dads to pick up the money for him. (3 hours away). Husband is told at doctors office that if he doesnt lose water weight in another 2 weeks he will be admitted to hospital again. Hes not going to lose it. Hes had it for 2 months now.

Wednesday--get up to get kids to school, youngest to high school, oldest to take his GED from 7:30 to 3:30 today. Youngest decides he wants to ask to miss school and go with me. Pressure of telling him he has to be in school. He turns it around by saying, I just want to be there FOR YOU. Oldest....6:14, he has to be at GED by 7:30 is mouthy this morning, taking their time using bathroom, getting dressed. I swear everyone in this house has reverted to 5 year olds!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Im supposed to leave in 2 hours to drive to my dads again.

In all of this, I asked husband to deal with the van issues with the motor, as I have no idea what I am talking about.....he starts, then calls me (with every person involved) and says, I told them you would call them. WTH? I asked HIM to deal with that phone work.

Just venting---about to lose my mind, if I have one to lose....

oh, hugs to you!! Sorry you are going through all of this. Sometimes it just sucks, and right now is the sucky time. The old saying, when it rains it pours.
On the guitar lessons, no more cash!! If you do, buy a receipt book, and everytime you pay him something, write it out in the receipt book, have him sign it right there on the spot, and give him his copy of the receipt.

Lordy girl, you didn't just step in a pile of doggie doo-doo you had an entire truck dumped upon you.

Sorry but no phone calls allowed in my home after 10 when my sons lived at home.

I am goinng to go a bit Suze Orman on you but with your financial situation you can not afford guitar lessons or going out for dinner right now. I honestly do get where you are coming from. I am in a pretty similar situation myself. I had credit cards opened up under my name w/o my knowledge or consent. I reported it to the police & they just think I should take this person to small caims court. They have more important crimes to deal with.

This $800 you owe, is this credit card debt? PM me & I can explain some of this things I did that worked out.

Good luck & I am sorry you are going through this & I am sorry for going big sister on you & scolding you. I get it, trust me. I am so sick to death of playing the need vs want game it is unreal. Right now for lunch I am eating an apple that I got in a reduced pack at the grocery store when I would rather a slice of pizza. A slice of pizza costs $3 while a 6 pack of apples cost me 56 cents. Trust me I am living your pain.
Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids.
