    My eBay vent

I've been on eBay for years and normally don't have any big issues. Well I found a pair of Abercrombie jeans for Greta in 14 slim. She has been asking for "destroyed" jeans so of course I go to eBay for a deal. The auction started at .99 and ended around 6 am yesterday morning. I won them for only $1.04 plus shipping $6. Well I pay and then this morning I am checking my eBay and see where the seller wants to cancel the transaction. She has over 200 FB, all positive.

Her reason for wanting to cancel is "I no longer have them in stock" WTH? In her auction it states they were her daughters and she outgrew them very quickly. She has probably 2 other auctions going, so she isn't a store or someone who has 200 of the same item. I'm so ticked off! I declined her request to cancel because I am thinking she is upset because her $50 jeans sold for $1 and change. She would probably relist them again and try to get more $.

I'm feeling if she wanted $10 or whatever for them that she should have started her auction at that price. I had already checked these off my list! What do you guys think? Should I just ask for a refund or stand my ground and wait for her response to my payment? Just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks everyone!

I dont have much ebay experience overall. If you stand your ground, what bad can come back to you?
If it were me, I would stand my ground, I agree, If she wanted more money for them, start them at a higher price.

Is there some way you could report this to ebay? It sounds as though that is her intentions is to relist them to get more $ for them. She probably thought that they would sell for alot more, thus starting the bid so low. Like you said, she is not a store so there would be no 'stock'.

She probably failed to realize that in this world of growing obesity, a 14 slim would not sell so quickly!

I know several years ago, I bought a box of used jeans that I sold in lots based on the sizes. All the petite size jeans didn't go as quickly, but there was always 1 or 2 people that were so greatful because they were petite build and were so happy to get a bunch for a steal. I was just glad that someone could use them.

ok, I've digressed and hopefully someone else will come along with some useful info but I think you've got her pegged correctly.

I would stand your ground. You won the auction, you paid..now she needs to keep her end of it. Not your fault she did not get as much as she wanted, maybe next time she sells something she will think to start it at a higher price.

you know thats what happened, she got pissed cause the jeans didn't sell better than that. I've had that happened before once, and the person even took the liberty to refund the money to me automatically. I don't know if there's much you can do.... hopefully she will change her mind and go ahead and let you have them. If not, I would keep her name and look her up often to see if she resells them, then I would ask her WTF?!!

I agree w/ everyone and was thinking along the same lines as Jasmine, if she does get to cancel I would take screen shots of the sale you won right now w/ pictures and keep a look out and see if she relists them and if she did I would have a field day w/ ebay. How disgusting!

Well I haven't heard from her today, so I have no clue what she is thinking. My guess is that she isn't too happy with herself. If she doesn't send them to me, I will most def. post negative feedback for her and I tend to harbor stuff so I know I'll be checking all future auctions that she lists. Thanks for the opinions, will keep ya posted on how things go.

Well just heard back from her and she said, "I can't believe you didn't agree to the cancellation, now I have to pay listing fees because you didn't agree" WTH? She said she had 2 stacks of clothing, one for Goodwill and one name brand stack for eBay (this was her ONLY clothing item on auction btw) and she said her dh must have taken these to Goodwill. I should also state that she made 0 mention of refunding my $. I emailed her back and told her that her cancellation made no mention of any details, only that it wasn't in stock, how am I expected to know her reasoning? I also told her I had been through this before and sometimes sellers don't get what they expect to get and then shaft the original buyer and relist for higher $. I told her eBay doesn't work this way.

I basically told her that she gave me no reasonable explanation and sorry if she had to pay a listing fee (it was started at .99 and had 1 Free pic, so she probably only paid .15-20 to list anyway) but as a buyer I was protecting myself. I told her she should have emailed me personally.

I don't buy the whole excuse, seeing as she only had one clothing item on auction....how can you not keep up with one clothing item? I think if she had a entire stack of name brand clothing they would have been listed also, wouldn't you think? I'm mad as heck now! lol

I guess the next step is to wait and see if she returns my money or responds to this. I'm hoping the jeans suddenly turn up and she ships them on. I'm with tunisia, I think we have her pegged correctly.

I agree with everyone she wanted more money. Well she should've thought of that before hand. She could have easily started them cheap and put a reserve on them. Sellers remorse is no excuse to screw people. IMO
I hope you get them. If not I would report her.
