Paypal and ebay suck
I hadnt realised things had gotten so bad for a seller.
My husband sold something on ebay. $114 worth. I looked at my account. It said the transaction is pending. I called and asked why. I was told until the buyer leaves positive feedback or releases my funds that money will sit in limbo.
I will never use ebay again. I had rather risk Craigslist. My husband cancelled all auctions he had going. Times have been tight lately, and we were depending on that money. Now it looks like we will have to wait until the buyer decides to leave feedback, or 21 days when Paypal will investigate it for me at my request, and then I might not get my money, and will be out my item.
I guess Paypal UPS and eBay are in cahoots. They wont take a delivery confirmation #. They have to have a tracking #. It costs way too much to get tracking at the post office. So I assume they expect you to use UPS.
When did all of their policies change?

Wow that is insane.
I will most definitely keep that in mind if I buy something from Ebay to check the item over as soon as I recieve it and leave the positive feedback ASAP. (I do anyways, but this is just a good reason to be sure its done fast).

???
I've always gotten my money right away and it went through fine when the person paid me when I sold something on ebay?!!
Did the person use a e-check, or was this your first time on ebay selling/buying? I would almost write back and tell them, well, I will send it when I get my money! That's wierd!
I've NEVER had to leave feedback, nor the person buying from me leave feedback before the $$ transition would go through.

so you are saying that when I buy something on ebay and pay with paypal, if I don't leave positive feedback, my money will go back into my acct?
doesn't sound right to me

No, your money wont go back into your account, it will sit in limbo until paypal decides to release it, typically 21 days, but possibly longer.
It is sitting there in pending because it is a specific electronic item. DH hasnt sold anything in forever on ebay. He was and is in good standing. They just want to be dinks with his money. And I guess USPS delivery confirmation isnt enough. Although it shows the item arrived at the buyers post office at 2 am this morning. I was finally able to enter the tracking on the paypal site. I couldnt enter it on ebay, it wouldnt let me.

I just sold a camera on ebay and the guy who won the bid still hasn't paid. It ended on Sunday. He emails me wanting to ship it Fed ex and charge his account. Not sure what that means. There's no way i'm shipping without my money.

ask him if that mean if he wants you to send him a bill "payment request" from paypal for the shipping charges, get it clear first with him. But then again, if you did not offer fed ex shipping with your ebay add, then you don't have to.
Like with mine, I just offer regular first class, or gaw, my mind just went blank, you know, the way you ship it when you just sell books, cd's etc....

yes LOL, thanks!!
oh ya, and he should have asked you before bidding on your auction if you could send it to him fed ex, if you didn't offer it, then don't do it if you don't want to.

I sell on ebay quite regularly and I have never had the money on "hold" unless it is an eCheck that they paid with. Are you a first time seller? That is the only thing I can think of as to why they would do that. I would contact eBay directly and ask them WTF.

What he means is he has a FedEx account & he wants you to ship it FedEx using his account number so you don't have to pay shipping charges.
