It is not ebay holding it, it is paypal. I was told if the buyer had paid me directly, instead of through ebay, this wouldnt be a problem. I asked the woman what buyer in their right mind would do that? They wouldnt be protected.
No, he isnt a first time seller. He hasnt sold in a long time, he has never had a negative on a sale. before the new system, he did get a retalitory negative from a seller, but only one. I was to understand that the reason there was a hold was because of the type of item he sold. I was finally able to get them to add the tracking to the sale. The item is sitting at the buyers post office, he hasnt picked it up yet.
They are telling me now that when he does pick it up, they will release the funds after 3 days unless he leaves possitive feedback, or clicks on release.
What is really messed up is the fact that reguardless of who you talk to, each of them have a different spin on policy. The person last night wouldnt even take the info on the delivery confirmation, the person today was more than happy to help, but still wouldnt release the funds.

I had a request once from an ebay buyer to ship the merchandise to him using his FedEx account... he said he needed it "asap" for a birthday gift. I didn't anticipate any problem with his request and shipped the item to him using the account number he gave me. A month or so later I was BILLED by FedEx for the shipping charges, the account he had given me was closed. I had to threaten him with legal action to get him to pay the bill. I'd NEVER do that again!

I always pay directly through eBay. It takes you to the Paypal website. eBay owns Paypal, they are connected. You know you can add the delivery confirmation number yourself. If you go to his Paypal payment, click on details, go all the way to the bottom and click on "add tracking info". This will automatically add it to his eBay auction as well.

I was finally able to add it. For some reason it wouldnt let me ther other day. I always pay through ebay too. One of the reps told me to have my buyers pay directly through paypal to avoid holds on those items in the future, and I told her no one would be crazy enough to pay that way because they wouldnt be as protected.
