I heard my first Christmas song on the radio the first week of OCTOBER.

I won't go to any malls or dept. stores from now until after Thanksgiving. I'm just not ready to have it crammed down my throat yet.

I love Christmas....but lets wait until AFTER THANKSGIVING.

My favorite oldies station started doing that one year but they waited until Thanksgiving. Drove me nuts. I do love Christmas and all that comes with it, including the songs but listening to them 24/7 gets old quick. They must have had a lot of complaints because that was the first and last time they did it. They now do it at their online site.

Jasmine.. I listen to 92.9 all the time.

I dont like having the holidays shoved down my throat, and I don't like how the commercialism for Christmas has gotten so bad that its like Thanksgiving shouldnt even exist anymore. The radio stations should play Christmas songs like the week before and during Xmas and thats it. we don't need 3 mos of it. It doesn't put me in " the spirit". It depresses me and most people I know because it's reminding me I dont have the money for it. I have 5 kids at home, 3 out of the house and 7 grandkids. I will be lucky to just buy the kids still at home something. And there are millions of people out of work. How is 2 months of Christmas songs going to cheer people up or " put them in the Christmas spirit" when people are wondering how they are going to pay their rent and bills, let alone buy their kids something from Santa?
These stations should have more tact considering this sh**ty economy

There was a commercial for the trans siberian orchestra and they played one song that made me and my son both say at the same time "Ding fries are done, ding fries are done"

I cannot stand Christmas music either. Honestly I don't want to hear it ever unless I chose to turn it to an appointed station (preferably not one I normally listen to) or turn it to the christmas channel on the tv or play it myself. I don't want to hear it while shopping either. Not everyone is Christian and believes in that holiday, they don't usually play music for other religions (except some Jewish songs) so I don't feel it's fair they bombard everyone w/ christmas music.

I too have XM... If my favorite stations switched to Christmas music on halloween and intended to play it wall to wall until Christmas, I would never tune to that station again. Thankfully, the XM stations don't do that.

I like Christmas music but then I only listen to music when I am in the car. I don't listen to it at home to much. All music starts working on my nerves after a while. I was tickled to death one year they did Christmas music 24/7. It started the day after Thanksgiving. But they got so many complaints that after that, they played a mix of Christmas and non Christmas.
I do think Oct is way to soon to start playing it though. That is a bit much.

Sirius satellite! Yay! They do have an all Christmas all the time station right now but I usually only listen to Christmas music while we are putting up the tree and decorating the inside of the house. Once in a while I put it on in the car if my younger 2 request it, but not this early. LOL

For the second day in a row, DH's alarm clock went off w/Christmas music, told him he needed to change the station til after Christmas. LOL

I love Christmas music, the songs about Christ. I absolutely hate the songs about Santa Clause
