If I were you, I'd get a hold of him and give him a specific deadline to get his stuff (find out what is legal first) and then toss it .. That way if he thinks you're going to forgive him because he gave you time to think and he assumes since his stuff is already there he can worm his way in, it will give a deadline.. Be firm too.. You don't want a leech like that still hanging around b/c you have his stuff kwim?

You should have called the police on him for stealing the medication. Thank goodness nothing happened to him while he was under the influence of your medication. Too bad you didn't call the law. He need to be in jail. I don't care if it is for a half a pill. A thief is a thief and deserve to be in jail...PERIOD! If I were you I would call the police and fill them in on what has happened and ask them how long you are expected to keep his stuff. Hopefully they will tell you that you can rid of it. And that is exactly what I would do. If it is decent stuff then I would donate to the Goodwill or put it on freecycle. If it meant anything to him he would have already picked it up, IMO. I agree with what someone else already stated. He is hoping you will give in and let him come back.
The more you complain, the longer God makes you live.

I would find out where he is staying, bag it up, and go throw it on their front lawn!

Give him notice, call him, tell him you have untill such and such date to get his stuff, and if he doesn't, then your getting rid of it, then if he doesn't show up, get rid of it. If you think he will start trouble over it, document it, call the police, tell them that you gave him notice, a cut off date to come and collect his things, and if not, then it goes in the trash, or donation or whatever. That way you will atleast know that you gave him fair warning, and a cut off date to come and collect his things.
I did this with my husband, I actually bagged it up, threw it on the back porch, told him you have untill this date to come and get it, if not, it's suppose to rain, and it'll get ruined. ~ I actually ended up throwing it all in the back of the spare truck out in the yard. I also changed the locks.
