    WTH is wrong with cashiers??....

are they all morons lately? Had a couple of wt for $1 off chicken...thats all they said. well I went to the register with frozen chicken....Cashier decides it has to be off fresh chicken from the meat counter....hmm doesn't say that...well the picture shows it, um actually the picture shows a fully cooked rotisserie chicken! I finally tell her it says $1 off chicken, I can get fresh chicken, canned chicken, deli meat chicken, frozen chicken...as long as its chicken I can get it.....gee whiz!

How annoying! If the coupon said "chicken" I would assume ANY chicken unless it gives a brand and if it's frozen or not. How rude, just scan the damn coupon and shut up! LOL I'm grumpy today

I have been overworked and underpaid a lot of times...its no excuse for being ignorant, or giving poor service, or being just plain *****y.

As a SAHM I am in the MOST overworked and underpaid career EVER, can't use that as an excuse.

Yeah anymore I try to "Fish" for the cashier that looks like they don't really care about things and go through their line. I am so tired of trying to argue with cashiers about coupons.

    Lol

I was a cashier and I NEVER was rude or short with people... Even if they cussed and spit on me as the screamed in my face.

I did not mind the job most of the time, but it did make it unbearable for me when people were overly rude.

Underpaid, oh yeah, over worked you bet

I am both now too with daycare... but when a lil 2 yr old looks at you and says "wub jew" for the first time it makes it all easier to bear!

Okay I am tired and rambling on LOL

    Wink

Ok I couldn't find the BS flag but seriously, How much do people think someone who works a register for a living should be paid. I mean if you want higher paying jobs then I would think it would require a higher skill set than being a cashier. Before everyone goes apes**t I have been a cashier at several different type of jobs in the past but I sure didn't think it warranted more than barely minium wage and since then that has even increased. I think jobs should be paid on the level of skill and difficulty. As for your cashier UC I would have asked for a mgr.

I never understand why "they" care so much, like the $1 is gonna come out of their pocket.
I think they are jealous of all our bargins!

When I worked at McDonald's (did so for 10 years and loved my job), I did care about things like that. I think it has something to do with a good work ethic. I feel they are representatives of the store and therefore care about such things. Whenver I've had a coupon for an item and the pic showed something specific, I felt that this was what the coupon was for. But coupons vary and I always looked for the word "any" and if it was there, I was prepared to argue the point if the cashier wasn't going to give me my 'cents off.'

I don't think that a person should be paid for the difficulty level but rather rewarded for dealing with the public. (y'all know that we CAN be difficult.) Not all who are cashiers should be cashiers because some need to be in another job, (because they're downright rude and bored and could care less about you. They just want to get through the day. Leave your problems at home, honey. We all have them) out of the public eye but others are really great. It makes a big difference to me if cashiers/clerks are friendly and cooperative. So I absolutely believe most are overworked and underpaid and I absolutely agree that some others are downright b*tches.
