I wish they would just SHUT UP already!

DH and I have a HUGE group of friends where once every month we get together and play cards. Its just a good time. Well last week someone had an "Adults Only" (drinking) party and we could not go. Since the party thats all ANYONE can talk about. All sorts of code words, inside jokes, sayings and stories, pictures and videos etc etc. Its all over Facebook too. I have run into people at the store etc and again, thats all it was about. Well I have no idea and cant join in the "fun" they are still having. Tonight is our regular card game and I know thats all anyone is going to talk about. I realize it was a lot of fun etc but not everyone was able to go. I just wish they would all shut up about the party. GEEZ!

And I know this is a seriously petty whine but its really getting on my last nerves.

Oh, my gosh, I am going through the same thing right now! We all take turns hosting a social event and two weeks ago, it was at the richest friend's house. We were the host the week after that and all everyone could rant about was how he has this and that at his house. His house is better than Disneyland to them! I was hurt by that.

Sorry you are going through that. Hopefully it will blow over soon.

I hear ya. I mean maybe one or 2 days worth is fine, but it couldnt have been THAT great to go on about it for a week

sounds like you should speak up and let them know that it sounds like they had a good time, but you and your hubby were not there and cannot partake in their remembrance fun and you wished they could talk about other things as well so everyone can be included in the convo. That would drive me crazy as well as I'd feel like an outsider. GL

If there is a lull in the conversation, if I were there, I think I would just say--BORING-that is such old news, let's play cards.

Thanks guys! I mean I feel like a heel for complaining but they are REALLY getting on my nerves. I have a feeling tonight isnt going to be pretty. There are a few others who couldnt make the party too and are not on Facebook so they dont know the half of it. Videos and pics etc etc.

OMG! NO!!!!! Every single one of them kept on talking about it and the things that went on and about the next party etc. There were a few of us who were not there so we had no idea what was going on or what the jokes were about etc etc. I was going to say something but one guy beat me to it. He stood up and YELLED "SHUT THE H$LL UP EVERYONE" and went on this rant. WOW he was fed up! LOL He said exactly what I wanted to say but didnt have the guts to. I think they all got the point though. LOL
