Thread: I know why car dealers and manufactures are hurting!

Maybe its just me but I have been noticing that used car prices are higher then before. I guess trying to make a buck in the economy but how can you buy a car like that? My friend in Iowa said she noticed the samething where she lives.

Well thats the thing...they are "giving them away" IF you finance them. That way everyone makes more $$$$$$. But when you cant get financing and want to pay in cash, suddenly the fine print comes out and the deals are not available to you!!!!!! GRRRRR

First and foremost - Do NOT tell them you are paying cash. Let them work the deal and when it gets to the finance person - ask what the total price with everything is and then whip out your checkbook and give him a 100% down payment. They don't want to do cash deals since they get a kickback on the financing. HTH

I agree!! NEVER, I mean NEVER tell them anything till you have your car picked out and a price set up!
I can't believe your having sooo much trouble!! Around here they are giving cars away with other cars. New cars however. But I would still think they would be eager to make ANY sale! Cause car dealers go off their sales and they are hurting around here.

I know what you mean I am looking and there is a car for 9,000 and it said make an offer and so I said 7500 cash and they said no they would take 8500
