If you can find the hole they are coming in superglue it. I did that years ago. Also the raid works well too

Regular ants or sugar ants? I had a problem with those little bitty sugar ants and the Terro ant traps worked wonders. The company might make some for regular ants as well.

I killed one of those big nasty sickly flies last week. The kind that almost cough all over you as they sort of fly by. Ugh, imagine the germs he'd picked up on his journeys...

Have you got any fake sugar? Equal and such? The guy from the pest control place told me that is what they use for ants, and that I can keep ants under control by sprinkling around the edges of my counters. Seems to work.

We had a problem with ants getting in the cat food dishes several months ago. I have a spray bottle with a mixture of water and bleach that I use for cleaning and I sprayed some along the floor where the ants were coming in and we haven't seen any since.

I've been battling the lil sugar ants for months! If one of kids drops a crumb, you betcha it'll be covered in no time. I have noooo idea where they are coming in, as I usually find them in the middle of either my kitchen floor or living room on a morsel of food someone has dropped. Also, a few weeks ago, I went to the basement (not a dirt basement, it's heated, w/ carpet on side we use as a game room and cement floor on the laundry room side) and the dog food bowl had a bunch in there. I raid'ed it (the area..not the bowl) and moved the bowl (after cleaning) to another area of the same room....few days later, back again. Moved it again toward the center of the room....back again. Now I feed them up in the kitchen twice a day. I don't leave it out 24/7 anymore. GRRRR!

Mine were driving me crazy, too. So I did some internet searches and found out about Terro. It comes with some perforated cardboard pieces and a tube of gel like stuff. You put a drop on the cardboard and put it wherever you see ants. The ants come and carry it back to their nests and it kills all of them off. Just don't get upset when you see them all gathered on the piece of cardboard. And don't kill them cause they have to carry it back to their nest in order to kill the rest of the colony. All of mine were gone in a matter of a couple of days. Then my son told me he had them in his dorm room and came home and took my Terro, and I never saw it again. LOL. It got rid of all of his ants, too. It comes in a small, mostly orange. oblong box. I couldn't find it at any of the discount stores, but Walgreens carried it.
