I wish you luck! I"m going on 5 weeks of this cough! They persribed the Z-pack to me, I took it about 2 days after finishing it, my couch got bad again, been on another antibiotic, its still with me. I really hope it works for you! Feel better!

Hope it helps out. I asked for cough syrup when I was in and they gave me some with codeine in it. That worked good to for stopping the cough.
Even taking antibiotics it will take a few days for things to calm down some.
You might still want to call your doctor and get checked out.

Have any of you tried Robitussin DM? I know it tastes terrible but it is the only cough medicine that ever works for me. Hope you all feel better soon.

Get some Delsome(sp) it works very well and lasts upto 12 hours and doesn't taste that bad
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.

TY for all the get wells and prayers....I feel alittle better today but no voice lol..Kids n hubby like that lol...Im I have been using my sons woofer and it seem to help alittle with the cough...Ribs hurt like heck but gonna make it...TC Shadow...I think you and I need to go to someplace warm and quiet and get well ....

My little bit has the croup. She was always coughing to the point that it made her almost vomit. I took her to the Dr and he prescribed a steroid to help knock it out. She has other health issue to but since getting the steroid it has worked wonders.

(Shadowcat) I have been coughing and having sinus problems too for about the past two weeks. I am gonna have to just go to the doctor! I am tired of feeling like crap! Hope you start feeling better really quick! Hugs to you!

Before Christmas I had the same thing. I went to the doctor right away and asked for a Z-pak, codine cough med and an inhaler. Even tho I caught it right away I would wake up coughing for ten days. It finally broke and I coughed loose and lost my voice off an on for a couple of more weeks. Sister had the same thing, but more in the nose.

Get well soon!!!
I had my cold/congestion/cough for THREE weeks!!!
It was unpleasant and something I never want to go through again. And honestly no matter what kind of medicine I took it didn't help. (I have to be careful too as I can not have acetaminophen)
My furbabies were born on 3.30.09
I married the love of my life on 11.19.09

I had the exact same thing and it turned out it was bronchitis and I went thru 2 courses of antibiodics, plus had a butt full of penicillin to boot.

Update...
Well, couldn't find the prescription for the Z-pac, I think the kids threw it out when cleaning the counter yesterday, however, had my mom take me to the ER this morning (hubby was already at work and couldn't get off)... anyway, to make a long story short, I have pneumonia in my my left lung lobe, and a little bit in my right lung!
I'm on a new anti-biotic which should start clearing things up as soon as 24 hours, as well as help me out with the sinus infection, and some pills to help with the coughing! And I have a note to stay home from work for the next couple of days!
So, at least I know the Z-pac would not have worked with what all I have. I was spiking a 102.5 temp while there (I didn't even know that I had a fever!), so the wait was quite a bit while they tried to bring it down, but I'm feeling better already just knowing that I something that can be treated and then go A-W-A-Y!!!
