    My computor crashed

Grrr. Had virus protection, but they still got in and ruined my computor. Took it in and it has nasty viruses. All because of the websit I used to download my mp3 player. I have since found out that this is a popular site, but that it is notrius for viruses. Now I find out. So I am sharing my daughters computor right now. Cant buy a new one until after Christmas. I wish I could give the name of the site to warn others. But I don't know if that is allowed. Be careful

Why would you need to buy a new one? Just remove the virus or if you can't just reformat.

the computor man removed several viruses. But there is a big "trojan horse" he can't get off. Ok, here goes, the site is "limewire". The big virus will not allow me access to the internet. We called the technicians with our providor. We were on the phone with them about 30 minutes trying to get it to connect. It just would not happen. But my daughters computor gets the internet just fine, so it has to be the computor.

    Limewire isn't a site.. It's a download client/program

Anytime you download anything from anywhere you open yourself up to infecting your computer with a million types of viruses..

You may have to reformat your drive. My son is such a genius that he used to reformat his pc like every 6 months b/c he downloads utter crap.
Plus you need to update your anti-virus program every so often or turn auto update.
I am surprised you can't get the trojan off your pc..

I'm surprised that he can't remove the trojan but just reformat it instead of buying a new one. Even if you had to buy a copy of Windows, it would be cheaper then buying a new PC.

We use Lime wire sometimes, I have it set to scan as I download and it stops a lot of them because of trojans. I use mIRC to get most of my stuff tho. ANYTHING you download needs to be scanned. You need to use a good antivirus/firewall program. I use Norton's Internet Security DH uses Kerpersky, both work really well.

I could be wrong , but I would try turn off system restore and delete my internet connection then reinstall your internet.

Did you try to start in safe mode as last good connection then try to fix the problem from there

I use ace utilities, it caught things my other didnt , hope you can fix it , try safe mode and see if that helps.

It probably changed your winsok code. Have you tried doing a system restore?
I know I got one of those and thats what happened to mine as well.
AVG found it and I did a system restore and it worked fine. Maybe try that?
