I have stellar credit rating btw...
I called them and they are freezing the card...lowering the interest back to 15% and if I use the card they will jack up the interest to 28% again...
NICE!!!! NOT! This after 8 years of customer service, not ever a late payment and always MORE than the minimum.
If I were anyone with anything with BOA (Bank of ***holes) I would pay them off ASAP! Even if it is Mortgage.
So I am going to shred the CC and pay the idiots. But never ever do business with them or any bank they get sold too ever again except to pay the card off.
Watch out for your statements. The recent Stock Market "crash" likely did more damage to them than anyone ever will know.
Also btw my Sister-in-Law just got the notice today that she is being let go from her HIGH position as of November 15th.
You've all been warned.
Be careful and don't put up with the BS.
I have closed all my banking accounts and credit card accounts, I deal only in cash or prepaid credit card, in which I only put enough for ONE transaction. We are heading towards a depression and $ will do the talking when and if it happens. My next store neighbor buries her $ in jars in her basement

While we are on the subject I should warn people that at least here in California some people that use debit cards have had their whole bank accounts wiped out. It seems like the information was taken at some department stores right form those little machines you swipe your card through and then enter a pin number in. I've heard about this on the news first at gas stations and than at some dollar stores and then some department stores. I also heard of something like this happening at some ATM machines.

My mother and I USE to have Bank of America just regular checking/debit account. Last summer my moms debit information was stolen somehow and was used to charge 1000's of dollars for car parts all the way in California (we are in Missouri). Then, I deposited a check through the teller somehow the bank teller lost the check in the process of doing whatever they do to verfiy funds of the check causing my checking account to became in the negative for many days due to their error NOT mine. I had to scrap to get gas money for those days it was horrible. Now, I don't deal with bank accounts anymore - I use my boyfriends if I need to have a debit card for something.

After my Great Aunt passed away we went through her things and low and behold she had $1000's stashed throughout the house. I see exactly why she didn't trust banks!

The funny thing about it...if we are heading into a depression...paper money won't be worth jack. If you are stashing money...better invest it in gold coins or silver. Silver right now is really under valued. A close relative of mine just bought a little over 300 dollars worth of silver coins. If a depression is near, that silvers value will shoot through the roof.

If you can find anyplace that still has any left, gold coins are really good.
Most places have run out of them.

We changed from BOA a year ago cause of all the crap that they were putting us through. I dont recommend them to nobody.

My laundry mat gives gold coins as change - it's really weird. I saw it the other day when I went to wash blankets.

Just an FYI...if you have a credit card that you are NOT using, has a zero balance, and doesn't charge you an annual fee to maintain...DO NOT CANCEL THE CARD! Shred the card, lock it up, put it away so you won't be tempted to use it, but do not cancel the account. When your credit score is calculated, one of the things that contribute to your number is how much available credit you are eligible to use. Zero balance credit cards count as a positive toward your credit score.
In other words...the more zero balance credit cards you have to your name, the higher your credit score will be. The key is...you have to be sure you do not use them!!!
That is a hint from Suze Orman.
