Angry My Husband has Esophageal Cancer

My husband has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. They put a stent in so he could eat as he had lost 42 pounds since August!
The thing is we go to the VA and it has been a nightmare! We went Friday for a 2pm consultation and finally got to see the doctor at 3:05 pm and we learned nothing! Everytime we go, we get a different doctor and of course they are not familiar with the case. So he is reading through the reports and says yes you have cancer , but it doesn't say what kind or what stage it is in. I asked what the prognosis was and he said well he could have surgery! Why in the H*** would they want to do surgery if they don't have more info? He has had the Endoscopy,CT Scan, Pet Scan, Blood Tests . He didn't even have the images from the Pet Scan, so he called them and they told him it was on a CD and they would have to burn a cd for him! Does anyone have any idea who i can talk to at the VA to get more information? It is so frustrating! We know that this cancer is treatable, but not curable.

Im very sorry for the sadness and anguish both of you are feeling,my step mother deals with the VA monthly with several medical problems, most of the doctors are horrible, and was told that alot of them are doctors that have had their lic. revoked 1 time or another, alot of them are from another country. To be honest, they seem to be there only for their paycheck.
The only thing I know is my step mom contacts her congressman alot, and they get things moving,I also think she has some kind of advisor thru the VA?
Thats all I can think of,I hope others can send you in the correct area.
    Blessings to you and yours.

I'm so sorry. I agree with the post regarding contacting your congressman. Most federal agencies have someone whose job it is to deal with congressional inquiries...and they don't sit on them. They definitely get expedited. (My hubby works for SSA and he handles all congressional inquiries. He says if you are having a problem with ANY federal agency...don't waste your time arguing with them. Go straight to your congressman.)

    Good luck.
Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.
