Electric bill increase
Just got my electric bill for the month. I thought it looked a little high, even for summer. There's a nice little line at the bottom that says "Rates were increased effective 8/1/08 by 12.4 % to offset the 14% increase in power costs from our provider."
12.4% ???????? I guess it's a good darn thing I try to conserve as much energy as possible. It just seems like every step to conserve gets rewarded by a kick in the a**.

I feel ya. Mine says that the weather caused an increase in our enery bill by $40+ ...that is such a crock. We use window a/c's and we didn't use any more than the month before. Actually, we probably used them less because this past month I have not used the one in the computer room and I had the one in the bedroom off most of the time when we weren't in there.

I feel for ya. We got our bill and it was 30 bucks higher! We ran our air like 7 times for 10 mins. maybe just to knock out the humidy! I was like this has to be a joke! But what do you do? We did get a letter with ours saying they are trying to do rates changes. Our zone would actually decreas 1.5%
Our a couple bucks per month. But hey I'M NOT complaining about that!!!

I feel for you.
Within the span of 1 year we have had every utility go up at least once.
So although I am using a lot less electricity than last year my bill has actually gone up quite a bit. Go figure!

I saw in the paper that our natural gas bills are going up this month. Probably about a $30 a month increase. Looks like it's going to be a bundle up kind of winter. Plenty of sweatshirts and socks for this crew.
I remember when natural gas heat was the only way to go. Now our electric bill seems to be less expensive her khw than gas. It just never ends.

My energy bill has increased by $50...and we we found out that it is going up another 20%

I may not be a rocket scientist but my electric company must use some kind of new math. When they say, for example, that our bills are going up 50% mine doubles. Go figure.

I know how it is, too. Ours was $100 more last month than the month before (and $100 more than this time last year in our old, drafty house). The co-op warned us of an increase, but that hike is ridiculous.

Yup ours is going up 20% in October =/
Pretty soon we'll all be going back to the Little House on the Prairie days lol
