this has been a LONG couple of days!!!!
sunday morning we had a MASSIVE storm blow thru here. I woke up at 2:30 am to some bad winds. got up and turned on our tv and they were saying our little rural area and the very small towns that surrround me were in a storm cell. We were experiencing 100 plus miles per hour winds. Strong chances of tornado. It felt like it to!! By 3 my cat was freaking out so we thought there was going to be a tornado the winds were so bad. and the power went out.
finally about 20 mins later i went outside to check on my small crabapple tree and low and behold it was almost buried in HUGE limbs. I made my dh get dressed and get the chainsaw out. LOL . I know it sounds lame. but i LOVE those trees and i lost mine from last year due to our bad winter storm in march. Anyway our yard was totally littered with huge limbs and branches, etc. took us from 7am to 7pm to clean up. One fell on my mil van. then last night my MIL fell and broke her femur in 3 places. We thought her surgery would be today, but she broke it right above her artificial knee and they have to have the correct parts in case she injured her knee also. So she has her surgery tommorow. We just go out power back on at 6pm or so tonight!!
Oh and last night after we got back from the emergency room our fridge was leaking water. today it was leaking color. turned out to be icecream, pop cycles etc. what a mess!!!
I wish i could download my pix, but i'm still clueless on how to do so.
thanks for listening.

You have really had a couple of bad days. I hope the sun starts to shine for you now and I do so hope that your MIL will be well soon. I am getting so that I hate storms. We had two go through yesterday morning. Had no damage but others had limbs, branches and trees go down. Seems like each one is a little worse.

Yikes I'd say you've had a couple crazy days! Glad you are alright!!
Sounds like you experienced straight line winds, I've been through them on a couple occasions and cannot say I' like to do it a 3rd! The first time, like you I woke to terrible winds. I went and looked out my front door and our little tree (probably 7-8 ft tall 6-8 in dia.) was curved over blowing sideways..how it didn't just split in half I don't know!! Walked to the back of the house to look out the windows and I saw the neighbors shed blow apart and scatter across the alley. Trees were down everywhere and even some roofs blew off. We had no power for most of the day. Everyone swore it was a tornado, but weather service said no straight lined winds. Frightening stuff!

Wow...I'll say it's been a rough couple of days. I hope things settle down real soon for you and that your MIL heals quickly.
Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.

been another very long day. Mother in law ( i call her mom) came out of surgery very well. But she's very sore. they had to move her false knee to put in the rod and pins to fix her breaks. they actually go in through the old ins. (from her knee surgery) and use it to push knee over and put rod in. she kept complaing afterwards tonight about her knee hurting. We had to explain to her that is why. She will be probably laid up for 3-6 months. And fully recovery 1 year or better. ANd she will never have full use again.
What's harder is trying to care of my father in law who has the starts of
alzheimer's. He is on alot of meds etc. so with her gone it puts it to me to deal with.
Just got home a little while ago so gonna go relax. thought i would update everyone who was so nice to send prayers. THANK YOU!!!
