My mother in law got her contract for the winter and its 2.12 per GAL.
And that was a few weeks ago. Its probably gone up by now a few cents!
Its going to cost me about 1500-2000 bucks this winter. When will this ever break????
between REG. gas, groc. and now LP its getting tough to make it each month i swear!!

What is it in your area??

We don't use propane. We use oil. It's currently $4.50 per gallon. We can never order more than 100 gallons at a time (and usually can't find a company to deliver less than that, either) and when we do, we have to sacrifice something else (food, put off another bill, etc.). I have no idea how we're going to make it through this winter financially.

JKatherine do you have a Suburban Propane where you are at. They do budget plans. We have oil heat and that is who we use. They do deliver oil not just propane. http://www.suburbanpropane.com/

Last del I got it was sitting at 3.57 a gallon for propane. I use electric and wood to heat the house with and I have an 80 gallon tank to use for hot water cooking and my dryer.

You know the best way to heat your house is a pellet stove. The stove itself can range 1000-2000 dollars but the fuel itself isn't that expensive. I heat my house for about 400 dollars a winter and this is by far the best money saving way to heat the house. You should look into it since it seems like you're in a tight budget.

No propane or oil here,my house is all electric (ecept water, that's gas) My electric is budget at $137 two years ago it was $75, that's a BIG jump.I'm thinking it will go up yet again. I know our water/gas is..everyone got notice (our village owns it) and there has been numerous letters to the editer that the village promised to NOT raise like this. Last months 132.60...this month $154+

    Terrible!

we have natural gas and electric ... and I don't even want to DISCUSS the monopoly DTE has!

However, my sister in NH was using propane, and her bills were horrific...so they switched to 2 wood stoves (their house is 6 bedrooms), and for their water heater, they got rid of the tank...and went to this -- http://www.tanklesswaterheaterguide.com/

(the outlay seems expensive, but in the end, it actually saves you money because you don't have to store the water or heat the "tank").

edited to add: she has 11 in her family (yes, 9 natural children) plus pets, and washes at least 3 loads of clothes a day and at least 2x per day for dishwasher...so they use a LOT of water if you count all the baths, toilet flushes, etc.
2 days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

From Nov until March our heating bill was over $400 a MONTH. Hopefully this will change this winter (If I am still here) because in April I had the landlord insulate the attic..I mean, who doesn't insulate their attic??
