I did however, get so trashed one night, on a first date even, forget my purse in the guys car...lol, I woke up the next day flipping out ! I found where he wrote his phone number, and called him... he had to go look, it was on floor of his back seat...lol

I ended up married to him !

Oh, and losing my purse, it's not about the money... hėll, they can have the money... it's about all the other ID ! CC's, license, cards for everything ! And, of course, ID theft. What a HUGE pain in the arse that would be !
That is just so cool that you ended up marrying him
It's like one of those type of story lines you would find in a movie.

Never would I ever leave my purse anywhere. I pay to much for my purses to take the chance of it being stolen. LOL.

    Guilty!
I have done this to run in and pay for gas, but I take my wallet with me for ID.
I've left my purse in my truck at the PO, but lock the doors.

    I know....

I never leave my purse in the car. Way too many theifs around.

Just to add to your vent, what about those ladies who leave their purses in grocery carts while they are 10 feet away from it with their back turned to it. That drives me nuts.

My aunt had her purse stolen from a Kmart cart. It was one of those distraction cons. Someone hit her cart with theirs and dropped & dumped her own purse, she (aunt) bent down to help her pick up and when she stood up her purse was gone. She started yelling & making a scene. The cop ended up finding her purse on the other side of the store. It was intact because she had her wallet in one zipper part that was kinda hard to get to. The cops told her to wrap the strap around the seatbelt. I had never thought of that before she had it happen.

They did a segment on this on the news. I think it was Channel 2. They actually went through a mall parking lot and found cars with mp3 players and gps units and of course purses in plain sight. They interviewed people who had been arrested for breaking into cars and they told them that they specifically target these cars. If they could not see these types of items when they looked into the window then they typically passed it by for the next one. Their reasoning was the risk was too great to wind up empty handed. They wanted to make sure they would be getting something for their trouble. So bottom line, if you have these items in your car, at least take the time to put them in the glove box, under the seat, or anywhere that they can't easily be seen by someone looking in your car.
