    I HATE Spiders

I got up to take a nice hot relaxing shower this morning and I had a surprise guest waiting for me. It was a HUGE brown spider. I kid you not, the thing was almost as big as my palm (legs included). I didn't see it at first. I turned on the water, got in and realized that I had forgotten my razor on the bathroom sink. I opened the curtain to reach for it and there in the mirror I saw the reflection of it just above my head on the wall behind me. I freaked out. I jumped out of the shower and I swear the thing kept crawling toward me. Twitching its leg everytime it paused like it was mocking me or something. It kept coming closer and closer like it was stalking me. As I said I was originally freaked out, but this kind of ticked me off. So I started swearing at it and went into the closet and got one of DH's boots (I wasn't going to get spider guts on my shoes ) and squashed it. Stupid spiders. It totally ruined my shower, because I was constantly checking for any more of its buddies.

Oh I hate spiders too...gives me the chills thinking about your experience. I never used to mind them but then one night, while I was sleeping at the ripe old age of 10, a spider bit me on my eyelid..yep, my eyelid. I woke up in the morning and couldn't open my eye and my eye was all swollen so off to the ER we went...they said they could see the bite marks on my eyelid. Ended up in the hospital for a couple of days until the swelling went down...ever since that, I haven't been able to stand any spiders!

I'm sorry your day started off so bad...damn spiders

We had one of those last year. We were about to leave the kitchen, turned off the light and then saw the shadow of the thing twitch. It was freaking huge, I almost thought it was a tarantula. Hubby, well he's a girl when it comes to spiders... he stands there frozen and I had to go kill it. Ugh, the sound it made when it squished and what a mess! We have a kill all spiders policy now, hopefully we won't get another big one.

I personally don't know which ones are poisonous and which are not. I know that brown could be brown recluse and black could be black widow. I prefer to squash them first and ask questions later. They totally freak me out, but I would rather they be dead then able to sneak back out and scare me again later or god forbid, bite me.

We have those here and they really scare me, they can do a lot of damage. Hubby argued with me about there being fiddle backs till i showed him a picture of one.

It was a big thing when one of the Indiana govt. buildings became infested with them, they were supposed to be far and few between.

I think this was the kind of spider I killed. I know it's harmless and we get a ton of them every year. In the spring and in the fall. I start killing them as soon as I see them cause I don't ever want to find one that big again.

When I was 18 I was cleaning up around the house and when I got to the window a huge spider actually jumped off the curtain at me. I was sick and had lost my voice so here I go running through the house trying to scream. I jumped in the middle of my cousins bed and thought I would have to live there forever. She finally talked me in to walking back in there and we put it in a jar and carried it around for a week. It had some weird kind of horns on it's back. We never did find out what kind of spider it was. She tortured it to death and that pissed me off, then she flushed it and I never used that toilet again.
