There was another post about shrinkage of groceries, and "it's what people want" according to the company, I was at the store and Edy's icecream was on sale, it looked small checked out the sizes, noticed an older one next to the new one read the sizes and they went from something .75 to something .5 and it is not because we want smaller packages, I can not believe that they think we are sooooo stupid to believe it, it's because they can put more product on a truck.....Creamette noodles the linguene (sp) went from 16 ozs to 12 thats HUGE!!!!!!!

Okay, then on the day after Election Day, I fully expect gas to go back down to below $2 a gallon. I mean, instantly.

So basically you are saying that the person in office has nothing to do with it and he can't put a stop to it, if he choose to? I realize and understand that the President (any President) mostly does what "they" tell him to do, BUT he could put a stop to the raise in gas prices if he choose to do so. He doesn't do anything because he IS making $$$ off of it. It has been proven that he and daddy both are knee deep in the oil. So by him doing nothing now protects his interest.

    It was a joke.

I am pissed too. In Florida, where we now live, price gouging is supposed to be illegal. However, that seems to only apply only to those who do not own oil or insurance companies.

I don't believe he alone could make them stop. But, I think that him, along with the Congress and Senate, could do it.

And, he is not the only one making money from the oil companies. I am sure that even some Dems have their fingers and toes firmly planted in there too.

gas is "averaging" $4.30 a gallon in the metro area...

we went and bought new bikes. I have on layaway one of those things that people use to carry kids in (it attaches to the back wheel of a bike) and fully intend on using it to ride to the local store to buy milk and bread and eggs and stuff.

we just cant afford to do anything -- nothing.

I think we should all go collect welfare.
2 days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

Ummm, Ya...Can't say that will make things any better...

The rising gas prices are also gonna force me to put my son in a school closer to our home so he can walk. Right now he is drove about a 15 min drive away so that he can go to a diff school district. The one we are in SUCKS! They don't give him any assistance in the district he should go to. They say he don't qualify for math, reading or speech resource yet he does qualify in the other district. I know why they do this but that is a WHOLE nutta issue!
I'm just scared that if I put him in the district close to our home and they say like they always do he don't qualify he is going to get left behind in school. Plus the school by our home is GHETTO! The kids that come out of the school are a mess!

Sorry I thought you were for real. But I think if he would put his foot down, etc...the rest would follow suit. At least it would show Americans that he gives a damn about our country. And please don't think for a minute that I think only Rep. have their fingers in the pot. I know the others do as well but at least with the Dems they are willing to put monies towards social services to help those that can not make it. I think it is a total shame that people have to chose between groceries and gasoline.
